"One of the best freshwater baits ever made and same is true for saltwater...fish it fast for active fish and slow (almost like a jig) for cold water/inactive fish."

"This is one of the best lures ever! I personally have caught so many big bass on this lure I have lost count. I have caught them when fishing in a boat or from the bank. It doesn't seem to matter. The only thing I do different and It may sound crazy but I spray it with the yum fish scent spray. I've actually not caught any fish and then spray the lure and on the first or second cast caught a fish. My favorite is the Smokey Joe 1/2 oz. Other good colors are chrome and black or chrome and blue. Chrome and green also works pretty good."

Great for night fishing

"I used the red & white lure between 2 & 4 am on Fort Lauderdale Beach. I've managed to catch an American eel, rock or bottom fish (no idea what kind) and a Barracuda. I've noticed other versions of this lure which come in different sizes----I want to purchase them all. Can't wait to try the mirror-tone ones during the day. The designer of this lure knew what he was doing. Great job! *Special note: The treble hooks on mine are black and have not rusted like the other types of hooks have on various other lures. This lure rattles nicely and swims actively. If you are a boatless fisherman, I recommend you grab a few of these."

"This is one of the best rattlers I have ever used, but I wish they'ed tone down the noise just a bit. I can hear it 6ft. away from the boat. Thi is a excellent reaction bait for clear water."

"This is a loud lure! I like to use this lure when I am blind casting because fish can pick up on it from a good distance. Don't cast this too close to a fish though. I have scared the heck out of some redfish with this lure."

Review 10 for Bill Lewis Original Saltwater Rat-L-Trap®
"The white with a red head is excellent for stripers. I had never seen this color before a friend of mine gave me a few he picked up at the new Bass Pro Shop about 30 miles south of Hesperia California. We changed out the original hooks and headed to Silverwood lake a few weeks after all the fires in the area were under control and it was striper after striper after striper etc."

"This is a great lure, last week i caught my biggest bass ever on a 1/2 ounce rattle trap. It was all silver on the side but black on the top. I either just cast it out and reel it in as fast as i can, or a use a Yo-Yo retrieve."

USE THE SALTWATER RAT-L-TRAP

"Although I live in North Carolina, my home state is Rhode Island. I have a particular salt pond location that I visit every time I am back in RI that, in season, always holds stripers, blue fish, shad and flounder. All that I ever use there is the Chrome/Black/Blue Rat-L-Trap and I outcatch everyone else there. The shad are actually the most fun to catch, (they run between 28" and 32"), because they fight just like miniature tarpon. Most importantly, they love the Rat-L-Trap.
This June I was back in the state for a wedding. I immediately went to my spot and caught 4 good-sized schoolie stripers, (18" - 24"), on 10 casts of my Rat-L-Trap. Unfortunately, I had to leave then to get ready for the wedding, but, as they say, "I'll be back", and I will have my Rat-L-Trap when I do."
