Nice Bait

,

By MuskyKiller

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well
Disadvantages: Durability
"I use the 10" perch and shad and It has been a great lure for me for Pike and Musky fishing. The smaller pike and muskies tend to rip the tails off and that is why I went with the bigger models."

very disappointed

By fishsticks56
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Value for money, fish love it
Disadvantages: Durability, stopped using them because they kept coming apart
"Used this lure right away and caught a nice pickeral .
Second fish was a 2.5 lb bass. He jumped once and then the lure broke. The eye of the lure with a small piece of head was all that was left. Thought maybe first fish damaged lure, so tied on anther one and the next fish same thing happened. My wife got one caught in lilly pads and after jerking it around like we usually do, she reeled it back and all that was on there was the same thing. The problem is simple. The eye of the lure is not connected to the hook with anything but a molded piece of plastic. Most lure I have are connected with wire or metal rod. I don't know if we got a bad load or is this a poorly designed lure. The sad part is the fish really liked it and it was outfishing everything else we tried. The swim action is great and a quick pull then stop is a perfect wounded minnow

Made my day!

"I started fishing a lake this summer after a friend of mine told me he pulls 50 inch northerns through the ice. After landing one small pike this summer out of five strikes and ready for bigger fish i tied on a STORM Kickin' Minnow 6in perch and cast into a little deeper water. My second cast i felt a small bump...then my pole bent in half and my reel started whining. Pulling in a 30 inch 15lb pike on 6# test and a brand new lure made my day. The hook placement was perfect and there was no throwing this hook, all three barbs were buried deep in the corner of his mouth. After a trip to the Bass Pro online store for more STORM products and ill be right back on the lake. Good fishing!"

"This is an amazing swimbait!! Me and my friends went fishing this afternoon and none of us three had luck untill one of them changed to the Storm Kickin' Minnow Fire Tiger and he had the first and only fish. It was about a 12 inch bass and that doesn't seem very well but in our lake thats pretty good! We all wanted to use it but we had to leave gonna keep using this! Awesome Bait looks very realistic when slowly reeling it in and jerking! Recommended to all who want to catch the first fish!"

Reliable Bait

By PSUBass

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Value for money
Disadvantages: a sharper hook is needed.
"I first tried this bait last year and landed 4 largemouth, all atleast 2 lbs a piece, in one night. This lure has excellent action, and I have seen many different species of fish follow this lure into the boat. I have my best success with the Kickin' Minnow when I throw it in water 2.5-5 feet deep, over top of weeds and along the edges of lily pads. Although I tend to snag some weeds every once in a while, if you aren't throwing your lure near structure, fish could be few and far between. I have caught all of my fish on the Gizzard Shad 4" model. Overall, a solid "go-to" bait."

"I was a little skeptical at first, but the kickin minnow works. I have caught two nice largemouth bass on the 6 inch version and some nice hybrids on the smaller 4 inch. Would have given a 5 if it came with a better hook. Great price compared to other swimbaits on the market."

Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money, Quality
Disadvantages: Durability
"this swimbait is an easy to use swimbait that will always perform, unless the fish tear off the tail segments. This lure is inexpensive so it is easy to replace when a toothy fish engulfs it head first. It works for catching any predatory fish that swims. very lifelike swimming motion, the plastic bill makes the lure bounce off of structure and more snagproof."

Muskie Trolling Bait

Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money
Disadvantages: Durability
"Great Bait to troll for muskie. I've even caught bass of the 9" model. The only disadvantage is that once you catch a few muskie then the plastic gets worn off but since they are so cheap especially for a muskie lure they aren't too expensive to replace."

Best little cheap swimbait ever!

Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money, Quality, castability
"Wow what a great swimbait and for less than $3!!
I had bought a couple of the storm kickin minnows earlier this year but had not had a chance to use them until a tournament in September. I needed a lure that would run fairly shallow so I decided to put on the storm swimbait to see how it would work. I simply could not believe the action of this bait. On the 4th cast I caught a good keeper then shortly after that I caught my biggest fish of the tournament, a 3lb. fish. I ended up doing real well in the tournament because of the Storm kickin minnow. I just fished a tournament where my biggest fish again came on the Storm Kicking minnow. It is absolutely a great little swimbait that once you start throwing it you will not want to put it down!

"while these lures will catch fish dont expesct them to stay on. the trebel hooks are held in place by a hard brittle peice of plastic. this plastis is good for about 5 fish then the hooks fall out. I have 3 of the same lures all diffrent colors bought at the same time and all 3 are hookless"

Advantages: Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money, Quality
Disadvantages: Durability, hook paint
"To be honest I thought that all softbaits were pretty much a scam. I bought a few different kinds, and they didn't really impress. But this did. I bought just one, a 6" perch pattern (I think) and it moves incredibly
Looks like a real fish, moves like one, and when you twitch the rod tip it's a beautiful thing. So I gave it a try. I had a 24" Pike slam it, and HARD. Ripped the chest cavity and some other damage in the lure. I cooked that fish, and tried the same lure again the next day. Even with all that damage, it still moved amazingly and I hit another one just as big. Recommended it to all my fishing buddies. Well worth it. And not rediculously expensive like a Rapala!
Only disadvantages are these: Because it comes with a large treble hook, it often gets caught on your leader or line when casting, causing it to go into an unnatural spiraling movement through the water. And secondly is the durability... Not that it's not durable. Specifically, the hooks get scratched quite easily and the metallic red paint comes off of them. Also the rubber is very vulnerable to tears when a fish DOES strike, their teeth sink in too easily. But I suppose that's why they go for it every time? ;)"
