Very nice set of Pliers, work great,August 25, 2009
By Kingsfan123from California
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality
"I finally got tired of buying the cheap fishing pliers and went ahead and made a purchase of something that would last so I bought a pair of these. Had them maybe 2 years now and the cutter still works like when I 1st used it. Pliers are great. Even though I took care of them, they still started to show rust on them. Still work great though!"

Questionable,July 1, 2009
By MrWeedyfrom SW Florida
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Style/Design Disadvantages: quality of workmanship
"Up until today, I swore by these pliers. They work great cutting braid, they have crimpers for leader sleeves and fit good in my hand. Well, I noticed that they were getting alittle loose so I decieded to try and tighten them up. First mistake! Well, once I got the aluminum caps off the sides I was able to unscrew the bolt that holds them together. I figured I would clean them up and apply new grease to them (normal maintenance, right??). Well, after I cleaned them up and regreased them, I went to put them back together and screwed the the bolt together. It never got tight, great I thought, I stripped them! After pulling them back apart I looked at the female part of the bolt set, there are NO threads inside of it. It seems that when it was put together, they apply some glue of some sort and press the two sides together! I never could get it tight and the glue pulled out with the male part of the bolt set! I really like these pliers, however, I am on the fence due to the fact of the poor quality!"

Browning® Fishing Long Nose Pliers,May 24, 2009
By Skeetmanfrom SC
Advantages: Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money Disadvantages: hoslter not made well for left handers
"I have had these pliers for about a year now. I have had no problems with them from rusting, getting stiff or lost of finish. I am left handed,so only thing i would like to see change . Is on top where the cord attaches to holster, is to make another hole were the cord can be towards the back so it's out of the way. Other than that , they grip well do not slip. And well constructed."

Poor prescion,January 8, 2009
By Kanadakidfrom New Jersey
"I should have paid closer attention to some of the other reviews. The presion on the nose of the pliers is not very good. There is a large gap and the pliers don't close all the way. This make them ineffective for straigtning rolled hook points, holding split rings and bending barbs.
Also the nose /point of the pliers are square and not very precise. I don't know how they get away with $40.00 for pliers that are not so precise.
I have seen $ 8.00 craftsman pliers that line up and close perfectly.
The line cutter does work very well on 15 lb Braid with little effort.
I do not recommend these pliers. Sorry, but I was honestly disappointed."

I Love These Pliers!,December 31, 2008
By Bassmackerfrom Texas
"I can't say enough good things about this product. It is the most amazing pair of pliers I have ever used! Browning really outdid themselves with this one. I like how they are long nosed on top of being utility pliers, so they are not just used for cutting line, but to remove hooks from down deep too. The carrying case is awesome as well. The sort of "holster" for them is very handy when I am using one hand to hold my rod or a fish, and the other to cut line or remove a hook. The case provides easy one handed access, while at the same time allowing double security with the strap that comes over the pliers to lock them in, and the lanyard that hooks from one end of the pliers to the case. The lanyard is great as well, because an expensive, fine piece of machinery like this makes me really nervous about using around a dock or edge of a boat, but I don't have to worry with the lanyard. Also, the case can be stored loosely in your tackle box or pocket, but it also has a metal clip on the back. What I love most about this is the line cutters. I got this pair of amazing pliers for Christmas, and I was so excited that I went around testing the cutters on different lines that I had. The tungsten cutters on these pliers sliced like a hot knife through butter on all of my different lines, including my 6 lb test, my fireline, and my 14 lb braided line, all cut through with ease. These are very affordable, and very worth the price. Thanks Browning and BPS!"

For Price, Best Pliers On Market,May 7, 2008
By FlyFshrMan
"I bought a pair about two years ago and they still work as well as the day I got them. Excellent for cutting braid and they cut through mono like butter. The idea of replacement blades is almost a joke because mine have remained sharp but I do like the option of having the extra blades just in case. Although heavy, they work and are tough. I use mine in saltwater all the time and as long as I oiled them (Reel Magic) and washed them off with freshwater, I never saw any rust. Why buy a triple digit price pair of pliers (hint hint Van Stalls) when you can get the same quality for $50? To sum it all up...they're just an awesome pair of pliers!"

Love 'em - even for Saltwater,March 16, 2008
By John2006from SW Florida
"I bought my first pair when they first came out. Now I have 3 pair. I prefer the longnose over the standard version. I bought spare cutters but have never had to use them. They have been cutting braid weekly for several years now.
They don't rust if you wash them once in a while."

so so fishing tool,January 6, 2008
By crazyangler1from California Delta, Stockton
"I bought my Browning Fishing pliers from BassPro when it went on limited sale. I'm sorry for giving it a low rating since I fish several fish species from strippers to bucket mouths to trout. Sad to say, the tip of this long nose is still to large to use on deeply hooked trout if you intend to release small size ones. The cutters, you'd have to get used to using it on the outside pivot, specially if you are used to the regular sited cutters on most common fishing pliers, you tend to forget in the heat of the moment when you have a bite on. There, that being said, from looks to functionality I would raise it to 4 stars...but nah, it's heft places it back to 3 stars...I don't even know if the finish would last on saltwater outings regardless of necessary precautions taken."

excellent,September 20, 2007
By LTfrom Tampa Bay
"These pliers are great. They did however need to be initially adjusted. I loosened the small set screws and squeezed pliers tightly and retightened the set screws. this allows the pliers to tightly grip even thin microbraid. They have not rusted at all although I take very good care of my gear, wash them with freshwater and spray with silicone after every use. Great bargin for the price especially compared to much more expensive models- over $200"

Browning fishing pliers,July 11, 2006
By Fish finderfrom palm bay ,fla
"These pliers are terrific,I realy like the long nose set it is very easy to unhook fish who are hooked deep. The feature that beats other pliers in this price range is the replaceable cutting edges this means long life use ,where as others without replacement jaws are no good after the edges dull or get dinged."
