Best Scope On The Market!!, December 19, 2006
By Varminator from South Florida

"I have 3 Bushnell Elite 4200 riflescopes, a 6-24x40 multi-x (# 42-6244M), a 6-24x40 mil-dot (# 42-6242M) and an 8-32x40 multi-x (# 42-8324M). I would have to say that Bushnell is making the best scopes on the market and for the money they cannot be beat. I did all my research before buying my first 4200. I searched the Internet and read the reviews, checked and compared prices with other brands. Went to gun shows and stores and looked through different scopes and in the end believed what I read and saw and bought the Bushnell scope. It wasn't until I really put it to use that I was totally impressed. The clarity on the scope, even at high power, is incredible. With the Adjustable Objective lens you can turn the scope up to high power and focus right in on your target 100, 200, 300+ yards crystal clear.
I compared Bushnell with all the major brands before I made my first purchase, especially Leupold. They are equal to Leupold at almost half the price. Everyone who owns one of these scopes was right, they are the best. They are pretty expensive but quality scopes cost money. Do your research for best pricing. You will be glad you spent the money for this scope.
If you don't want to spend so much money, Bushnell makes some other good quality scopes. I have a rifle that I didn't want to spend big money on another scope for, so I purchased a Bushnell Sportsman 3-9x32 w/AO. It is also an excellent scope with superb clarity and was less than $60. Since buying my first Bushnell scope I have been hooked and have gotten rid of my other brands of scopes. I think I am only going to buy Bushnell scopes from now on.
I use my 6-24x40 scopes for hunting, target and silhouette shooting. The 8-32x40 I use for long-range varmint hunting and target. Bushnell has also introduced a new 6-24x40 for silhouette shooters, 42-6242P. It weights just under 18 oz. and is shorter in length than the 42-6242M & 42-6244M.
Another thing I found out is that Bushnell is made by Bausch & Lomb. They are known for their premium optics and eyewear.

Deadliest Scope You Can Buy 50 mm Firefly, December 30, 2008
By SkunkApe from Swampy South

"Do yourself the favor and get this scope in 50 mm with firefly reticle. This setup, with the rainguard added in, makes this the deadliest scope you can have. ANYTIME, ANYWHERE. You can hunt during foggy, rainy, snowy days from early morning until late in the dark. The firefly gives you the advantage of seeing your cross hairs during low light hours, which just so happen to be the time deer and hogs are up and moving. I harvested many animals thanks to this scope. Comes with a small light to charge the sights, too. Holds zero great, sighted in really quick (just five shots), super clear optics, and a great price. Absolutely the best, and because of the firefly & rainguard, there is no comparison to any other brand (it's 100% original, almost in a class of its own)."

Fantastic Scope, January 7, 2008
By Hard8

"I recently purchased a Bushnell Elite 4200 for my sons new rifle and this scope beats all my other scopes hands down. I own several very expensive German and Austrian scopes and this is brighter and clearer. If they come out with a 3X12X50 I would even consider trading out the scopes on my guns. What customer serice I got from Bass Pro Shops. They installed, bore sighted and had me on my way in 30 minutes and it was Christmas Eve."

Elite 4200 better than Leupold VX II, August 31, 2007
By west Alabama whitetails

"Under low light conditions at dusk over several occasions I compared my Elite 4200 scope (3x9x40 mm) on my .308 with my Leupold VX II (4x12x50 mm) on my 30/06. I did the comparisons at 4x, 6x, and 9x. Despite being a 40 mm scope the Elite 4200 was much brighter and I could see several minutes later than with the VX II. The Leupold cost $150 more. I sold the Leupold and now have a 2.5x10x40 mm on my 30/06."

Awesome, August 17, 2007

"This is your next scope!!!! I have used this on my Winchester Model 70 Super Shadow chambered in 270 WSM. I hunt In AR so its muddy. I think if I can drop mine in flooded woods to the point where its SUBMERGED, then I think the rainguard works!"

"What a nice scope. The 2.5x10x50 firefly is my perfect scope. Great glass, the rainguard actually works, firefly is real nice option and the magnification range is very versatile. Truely a quality scope."

Excellent Scope....doesn't cost a fortune., September 14, 2006
By rjcruiser from Covington, GA

"I did a bunch of research and ended up with the Elite 4200 4x16x50 mounted on my Remington 700 BDL 30-06. It is amazing in all conditions. Doesn't bump off-line once dialed in and doesn't fog either. Also, works well in low-light situations. Really allows the range of the gun to be used...was able to take a deer @ 150 yards and nail it in the neck without any problems...even could make out the lettering on a small sign @ 800 yards. Not fuzzy like the cheaper brands and the optics are as clear or clearer than the more expensive brands. Also, you're paying for quality, not shiny adds in outdoor mags like other scopes. I'd buy another if I needed to. Paid $375 ($500 with 25% off after season sale) for it January 2005."
