The Gamo Hunter Elite Air Combo!,November 9, 2006
By VarnmitSniperfrom Atlanta, Georgia
"The Gamo Hunter Elite Air Combo is an excellent value for the money! I had previously owned a standard 220 hunter Gamo airgun and was very satisfied with it's performance. I sold it to a friend and decided that I would acquire a new airgun. I considered the Gamo Hunter Extreme but I couldn't justify the cost. for a airgun. It was advertised as a 1250fps gun with lead pellets, and 1560fps with the PBS Gold Plated Pellets.
My Gamo Hunter Elite shoots a lead 12grain Pellet at 1000fps, and a 5grain PBS Pellet at 1250fps and will group within 1 inch at 30 yards. It will also penetrate a wood board at that distance about a quarter inch. The lighter PBS pellets will shoot about 6 in high if the gun is sighted in with the lead hunter pellets. The large 50mm Scope is very bright and has finger adjustable windage and elevation tabs. At dusk the BSA Scope is bright and it has an illuminated reticle which when aimed and sighted in will hit the direct center of mass in low light conditions. The gun has the look and feel of a expensive centerfire rifle.
The gun is very accurate and in low wind conditions I often will target squirrels in my pecan trees at 60plus yards, twice the distance I would consider an effective hunting range. With lead pellets it really gives them a smack but won't cause them significant injury. Just a little reminder not to steal too many of my pecans.
My intended target with this gun are Rats that sometimes visit my backyard at night. I will sometimes leave a bait to draw them into a low light area about 25 yards from my backdoor and when I see them it is just aim and shoot. Penetration at this distance with hunting pellets is exceptional! This gun never misses!
If you are considering an High Quality Air Rifle I highly recommend any of the Gamo Hunter series of 1000fps Air Rifles!"

Hunter Elite Excels,November 29, 2006
By DeadeyeDadfrom St. Louis, MO
"Bought this gun a couple of weeks ago for my 15 year old. Sighted it in with PBA Raptors at 25 yards and found that we could consistently hit the 9 and bull rings but grouping was not as tight as I might have hoped. We reduced the distance to 15 yards and sighted the gun in with Gamo magnum pellets. The results were absolutely outstanding. Almost every round in the bull and 6 of 10 almost right on top of one another (shooting from a bench). The accuracy was remarkable. An occasional flier but all in all an excellent gun. I expect that accuracy with the magnums will be much better than the raptors at 25yds but the crack of the report of the high velocity rounds ratchet up the excitement of target shooting to the next level. My son can't wait to get home from school to use this thing. He just loves the Elite. The glow on his face every time he shoots, knowing that he just tagged the bull, is a real endorsement for the quality of this product and the years of satisfaction you can expect from this gun."

Very Nice Air Rifle.,September 20, 2006
By IHMSAfrom Edmond, OKLA.
"I received the Gamo Air Rifle a couple of days ago and shot it today. This is one fine piece of hardware!!! I am surprised with the ease of use and how accurate the rifle is. Just minutes after I put the scope on the rifle I took it outside and shot one marker round to see what adjustment would be needed to zero the rifle in. The very first shot was 2 inches low and dead on left to right, after a couple of small adjustments the rifle was putting every pellet in the 10 ring every time. My first 5 shot group was from 25 yards off of a rest and the 5 shots could easily be covered with less than a dime. Every 5 shot group after that was very similar in size and without any stray shots. I was not even using the expensive match grade pellets, but I used the Rocket pellets that look like there is a small copper BB in the nose of the pellet. I am sure these are better than regular lead pellets, but they are no means as good as the upper end match grade pellets. I am sorry to say that I did not have enough time to get the target out to 100 yards today, but I am sure the 5 pellet groups will be in the 1 MOA range in size. The rifle is easy to break over to cock and load it and is super tight with little to no unwanted movement. The trigger pull is a little heavy for my taste, but I am used to a 2 ounce trigger while shooting IHMSA Silouhette matches. I am still pleased with the trigger as there is very little creep or over travel making it easy to place the pellet right on target. Overall, I give the rifle a rating of 5 with only a small detraction for the trigger. However, I still feel this rifle is superb and will make a great hunting or target rifle. For the money you will not beat it."
