Good strong purchase, November 2, 2009
By bpitas from Winchester, MA

Advantages: Performs well, Quality

"Only 4-out-of-5 because I've never sat in, much less owned, another stand, but I'm super happy with this stand and can't see too many ways to improve it that wouldn't compromise something else.

I'm a first time hunter, and bought this stand because it was on sale and I heard Summit stands were top of the line from a few hunters I know. I can say it's very well put together and makes climbing easy. The initial setup was a little rough even with the supplied DVD - I had to pause it a few times because they go pretty quickly, and I'm usually an "instructions? What instructions!?!" kinda guy, but I needed them here. Between the DVD and the printed instructions it's easy enough though - just need to switch between them because the orientation of the parts they are putting together isn't always obvious from the way they show them in the video and in the instructions.
Now that I've been out around 10 times, setting up the stand in the field (from taking it off my back until starting to climb) is about 4 minutes and surprisingly quiet even without the "Summit Skins" which are made out of printed foam, so should quiet things down even further.
I haven't used the 180-degree feature (don't want to face the tree) and honestly haven't even looked to see how you would do it, so not using that feature at all. I also don't use the seat to climb which is what the instructions say to do - I just lift myself up on the upper parallel bars. Heavy guys or guys with weak lats might benefit from reversing the seat though.
Once you're up there, the seat is comfortable enough and the platform is very supportive.
I'm probably going to buy the side bags and skins for it, so the pockets on my cammo jacket don't need to be full all the time - alot of the stuff like my haul line would be perfectly fine in a bag attached to the stand since that's the only place I use them, and that would free up room for rattles and calls and stuff in my jacket.

Excellent tree stand, October 9, 2009
By jessilynn from Alexander CIty, Al

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money
Disadvantages: the rounded bar in the front is further out

"I am a beginner hunter. This will be my first year bow hunting. And I have to say im 5'3" and 115 lbs, this stand isn't too heavy and easy to assemble and easy to set up on a tree. The only thing that might be a disadvantage is my short height because of this the bar in the front is rounded out because this stand will allow you to sit facing the tree and my short legs have a hard time lifting the platform part of the stand, but with a little tweaking my husband and i fugured it out and now i can shimmy up a tree in record time. And since this is my first time in a climber stand i must say i feel very secure at 20ft!!! Well worth the money and very comfortable too!!!"

Very comfortible deer stand, September 15, 2009
By Lineman144

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money

"The best deer stand I have ever had! I have a Tom Cat deer stand that was good for bow hunting but no leg room what so ever & I had to always carry a cushion for the hard seat. The summit 180 was the answer for that & good stand because of its easy & quiet set up. It was also a good stand for them all day hunts. If you do get this stand I would highly recommend getting the foot rest on it. Be leave me it makes a big difference. Its like sitting in a recliner. Don't forget to get a good nights sleep because you will pass out in this stand. Its that comfortable!"

PERFECT STAND, May 10, 2009
By Outdoorsmen111

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money, comfort

"This is a great stand! Great construction, esay set up, very comfortable, and enjoyable to be in all day. The 180 degree design is also a nice feature, it allows you to switch up your sitting position and use the tree to help conceal your self. The accessories also make it more enjoyable and comfortable. ( the foot rest & and wrap around seat)."

Dissapointed, October 26, 2008
By 33Hunter from S.c.

"I just spent $320 on this deer stand and used it hunting for 4 days. The paint is already coming off in places. I'm going to contact them and see if they have been having problems with this. I had another stand for 12yrs and never had this problem.
I'm hoping they can fix or replace this. Will try and post the results.

"Very nice, most comfortable stand I've been in. The only thing I can find wrong is attaching stand to tree while hunting. ( For safety reasons I do this)."
