"I bought the G. Loomis Eastfork 3-4 weight reel for a TFO 8 ft, 3 wt rod. It is the smoothest reel I own. I've let friends cast it a few times while we're on the river and have a hard time getting it back! The drag is one of the best: easy to adjust and it stays tight. It's a great weight for the small rod. I intend on upgrading all my rods to Eastfork reels. (Anyone care to buy some used reels?)"

"This reel is absolutely amazing!!! The drag is smooth and the fact that it is a Loomis should say it all. This reel is everything you would expect from G. Loomis. I own the 5-6 model and I have to say it is perfectly balanced on my GL2 #6 rod. I own an Okuma and I thought that it had a nice feel to it until I picked up this reel and my mind changed. If you are new to fly fishing and wondering which reel is right for you, this reel is perfect for the price."

"I love this reel. The drag is simply amazing. I have the 3-4wt version. I landed my personal best 16" brown trout in Southern California on this reel with a home tied stimulator dry fly and he fought like a champ and put the drag to the test! That is a big fish for our small local waters. The large arbor design is excellent for quick line retrieval and picking up slack FAST. When the fish bite, I lift my rod tip to hook them and let the drag do the rest! I have recommended this reel to friends on several occasions. I can dunk the reel in the water and sand in the creek and it still performs flawlessly with absolutely 0 maintenance for the year I've owned it. I just rinse it off and dry it then put it in the included G-loomis protective neoprene pouch when not in use. One time while loading my car with my gear after a long day, I forgot the East Fork reel on the roof of my car. I drove away and the first corner I came to it flew off the car and went bouncing down the road! I was horrified to see my favorite reel go flying at 30mph on the asphalt, but when I Walked over and picked it up it was in perfect working order and ready to go for more! Wow! Nothing but a VERY SMALL amount of scratching on the reel after this incident! I was simply amazed... I have always love G-loomis products and this one is no acception. If you purchase this reel, I can guarantee you will not be sorry. A+ and excellent value for the money. Would buy it again in a heartbeat."

"i just got my first nice 6wt rod, and i bought this reel to go with it. its been perfect for me, someone who is just starting to get into the river trout fishing. at first i assumed i would eventually upgrade to something nicer, but now i think i might be content to keep it."
