one and only saltwater rod,August 12, 2009
By Lairdofrom California
"this is the only rod i have ever used for saltwater fishing. i strapped on my daiwa x50ha on this and the combo is perfect. to me, rods have always been a hit or miss thing. a tiger is definately a hit and will continue to be. its great for casting or just dropping bait to the ocean foor. i have also had excellent performance in freshwater with this as well."

Sensitive tip and strong backbone.,May 13, 2009
By mudsuckerfrom Granbury, Texas
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money, tuff but sensitive tip strong backbone, dependable
"These are the best built rods for the MONEY.
Stainless Steel guides won't break unles you run your truck over them. This is great because of the abuse a rod takes during transporting.
The sensitive rod tip allows you to set the trap on any fish, the fish often hooks its self and yet the strong backbone it requires to land a large catfish won't let you down.
I have several fishing rods and the shakespeare Ugly stik tigers are my go to rods, whether fishing for trophy flatheads, Blues or just a bunch of small channel cats.
Never buy a 2 piece rod unless your are perch fishing."

The best for big fish,April 23, 2009
By Paganinifrom Lima, Peru
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money
"I bought a Tiger rod six month ago and I had the oportunity to try it jigging for Peruvian sea bass and trolling for grouper . I consider this is my best rod for this type of fishing. I caught several 20 pound groupers and many 6 lb sea bass and I landed easily all of them. Tiger rods are very good, strong rods, and the tip very sensible, one can trust 100 % these rods. I will buy two more of them."

Big fish rod!,May 30, 2008
By crashfire1from Vancouver
"We use two of these rods on the Columbia River for keeper size (42"-60") and oversize (60"+) sturgeon. They are great. There is a ton of back bone to really pull on the big guys but light enough to feel the little hits. A guide that I talk to recomended this rod and that is all he uses. He landed a 16 footer last year with one. He also uses them for tuna.
One is paired with a Penn 330 with 50lbs mono and the other with a 320 and 50 lbs brade.
Best rod out there and you can not beat the price!"

Lucky for BPS...,September 21, 2007
By cliffjumperfrom Vancouver Island, BC
"2 piece 50#-rated, spinning and casting Tiger rods.
Lucky for BassPro they didn't stock these rods when I was buying them. I ordered one each, spinning & casting for my cliff fishing in the salt. I need 2 piece rods to get through the bush and climbing up & down the rockpiles I frequently fish, or you just break the rod, get hung-up in bush or fall off a cliff when your rod jams your stomach as tips hits the rocks 7'-9' ahead of you.
EVERY one of these rods, after 3 shipments of 2 each, have ferrules that didn't fit well, AND were muli-fractured by the trim-saw operator in the factory. Not shipping damaged, but manufacturing damage.
That's the one-star rating.
The "recomend to friend" is because, when I finally got one spinning version which was not broken, it does as required very well.
In fact, were it not for the fact you must buy these rods in person, inspect and fiddle with each rod until you get one perfect in order to avoid buying already broken rods...
...These are a slam-dunk nice rod.
Cheers!, and inspect the 2 piece rods carefully at the female ferrule..."

EXCELLENT ROD,August 2, 2007
By AVID FISHERMAN
"I had the opportunity to use this rod on a guided cat fishing trip on Lake Marion in the Santee-Cooper lakes. It handled the biggest fish with no problem. The rod provided enough leverage to allow every one to land a big fish. An excellent rod, that's why I'm shopping for one now."

Best Pole Ever Made ~ Ugly Stik Tiger BWC2202,July 5, 2007
By D.Davis (aka Wizazz)
"I'm a Big Fan of the Ugly Stik series for many years now. I just purchased 2 of the Shakespeare Ugly Stik Tiger BWC2202 to handle the Giaint 60+LBs Flathead Catfish on the Rock River here in Illinois.. Let me tell you This Tiger Ugly Stik is the best pole i ever purchased... Very Very Strong, Sturdy and the High Quality of how its made and the Componants used to make it.. Make it problly one of the Best poles on the Market. I've used many Catfish and big game poles Such as the Quantum Big Cat Poles and they dont come even close to the Strenth and Quality of a Ugly Stik Tiger Pole. Try using a Ugly Stik Tiger pole Combined with a new Abu Garcia 6600d6 Baitcaster reel and Berkley Spiderwire 85 lbs test braid and you will be ready for the Largest Lunker Fish you can Find AnyWhere and easilly drag them in."

By Larrybfrom Anderson SC
"This rod combined with a Penn 330GTI is an excellent combo using leadcore line and fishing for stripers trolling. It handles both jig heads with a tail of some sort as well as large deep diving plugs up to 10 inches in length. The GTI can handle 13 colors of 36 lb lead core."
