Great stand, March 4, 2008
By brawney

"I have used my Summit Viper for two seasons now and feel it is one if not the best on the market. Speed, quiet, easy to set up, light, rock solid once you are in the stand. I have used other stands and they are not even in the same league. i feel so safe in this stand regardless of wind and weather conditions. Do a demo climb before you buy if you can and you wont look at another brand."

ONLY Stand I will ever use!!!, November 5, 2009
By reed08 from Tell City, IN

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality

"I have the summit viper X5 and I think it is the most comfortable stand on the market. Others I can sit in for only a few hours but I can fall asleep in this one it is so comfortable. The paint does easily chip but aluminum is hard to get paint to stick to. Also I bought some camo spray paint and added a little more variation in color. Since I have had the stand for 5 years now I have to buy new cables and I think I might as well purchase a new seat too. But climbing a tree is fast, easy, and quiet. If you want a stand that you can pack anywhere with ease I highly recommend this stand!"

Sturdy, November 2, 2009
By Scootercline from Camp Lejeune, NC

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Value for money
Disadvantages: not great for archery

"Bought this stand for this year. I love the ease of use and it is solid as a climber gets. It is a little heavy and I wish the front bar would come off for archery if the front bar would come on and off it would probably be a 5. I know Summit has the open shot but, I am not paying close to 300 dollars for another stand just for archery season I guess I will have to put the top down low and stand up the whole time the front bar cost me a nice buck because my bow hit the front bar while I was drawing my bow."

awsome treestand, October 1, 2009
By schneiderman from east texas

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Quality, Value for money

"untill last year i used friends used and loud treestands. i bought the viper after reading a lot of reviews on different brands and was not disappointed. much quieter than the old stands i'd been using and a heck of a lot lighter and easier to carrry into the woods with the supplied backpack straps. also, the cables are a lot easier to hook up to a tree than the old style metal peices i had been using. definatly recommended to all my friends."

Best climber out there, September 15, 2009
By sbur1011 from Panama City, FL

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money

"I have used several other climbers and nothing compares to this one. It is extremely light, easy to get on and off the tree and very comfortable. It attaches solidly to the tree, great stability and is extremely safe. Other climbers I could only sit for a few hours at a time. With the SS I can sit easily 6-8 hours now. More time in stand = better chance of seeing game."

Best climbing stand ever, August 17, 2009
By GMHUNT from Bessemer, AL

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money, light and quiet
Disadvantages: none

"I would have to say that these Vipers are the best stands ever built. They are light and easy to get on and off of trees and quietly at that. This is the only stand I will ever use again after trying out at least 20 different kinds."

Summit Viper SS, July 13, 2009
By Anonymous from Back woods of Georgia

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money, Comfortable

"Had my summit viper about three years now and it is the most comfortable climbing stand I have ever used. I have purchased the new wrap around seat used on the ultimate viper and am going to install it this year. Can't wait 4 deer season to get here. only problem I have out of mine is the pads on the rails slip I guess I did not get the ties suffciently tight b4 I cut em. As it is very likely my mistake I'm not blaming this on the stand or the manufacturer."

Only Stand I own!!!!!!, July 1, 2009
By LockednDropped from York Springs, PA

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money

"I few of my hunting buddies had other climbing stands but I never heard anything great from them.

So I decided to purchase a Viper Classic. I had then bought another Classic and they both worked great but they were awefully heavy for those long hikes in the mountians. So I decided to upgrade to the Viper SS.

I only have one of them and I don't think I will ever need any other stand. I had two Classics because I used to leave one in the woods because they were so heavy. With the SS model, you can carry it for miles and barely notice it is there.

The should straps work great. It's extremely comfortable in the tree. And I always feel safe. I use it for archery and rifle, and have never had any problems after 3 years of use. A great all around tree stand for anyone!!!!

Awesome, February 17, 2009
By ndbuchko from FT POLK, LA

"I have had my treestand for almost 3 years. It is very strudy and the foot pegs are probably the greatest invention of all times. They make going up and down the tree so much easier than using the old school strap system. The seat is very comfortable, almost to comfortable. The locking wires are easy to use, a little tricky if you are up in the tree and need to adjust them though.

The only thing that I would improve is send more of the camo tape with it. It helps cover the medal so if you bang something on it, it deadens the noise.

Awesome Stand, February 7, 2009
By Supermanphs2001 from Prattville, AL

"I have used the Summit Viper for 3 years now, and will not use another stand. Very Lightweight and easy to carry as well as very safe. I have never felt comfortable with heights, but feel very safe with this stand because you almost can't fall out of it. With the safety harness even if you do somehow manage to fall you will not go far."

"I bought one of these so I could take lug it to all the farms I hunt on. I am in love with it! It is light, quiet, portable, and comfortable. There is no climber that compares. If you are serious about your stands I encourage you to buy the Summit Viper SS."

Awesome Stand, January 15, 2009
By BigOakHuntClub from North Carolina

"The Viper is one of the best stands if not the best stand on the market today. It is comfortable and quiet. Long hunts are no problem with this stand, the sling style seat is awesome. It is also very, very light. The only thing that I had against my Viper was that it didn't come with the rapid climbing stirrups, which I purchased later and am very glad I did. They make climbing much easier and quieter, at least they did on my Viper."

Excellent tree stand, December 23, 2008
By Directorbud4u from East Waterford PA

"I own 3 Summit Viper climbing stands and they are the best stands on the market. I can spend the entire day in my Viper and be comfortable. I have allowed several friends to use mine and I get the same story from each one, they like my Summit better than what they presently own. Easy to set up on a tree and the most comfortable stand to be in. You won't go wrong owning a Summit."

Good Climber, December 15, 2008
By DieselMan from Cincinnati,OH

"This is one of the best climbers i have ever used. It is solid in the tree and really quiet also when in the tree and while climbing. Setting up is very simple and so is taking down and packing to and from. the only thing that i really dont like is when hunting with a compound bow i had to stand up to draw my bow the front rail tends to be a little close and i cant get full draw.,but standing and shooting is great. Comfortable and can easily stay in the stand all day with this climber."

Exceptional Stand, November 24, 2008
By Caddell from Medina, OH

"I have been using mine for about 4 years now and love it. I usually pack for all day so I strap a backpack to the stand while carrying it in so it can get a little heavy, but not bad at all overall for the security and easy of operation it provides. I have noticed that the paint is starting to peel in certain spots and the covering on the cables is starting to tear off in certain areas. This is easy to climb with, bites hard into the tree and VERY comfortable to sit in as I usually sit all day. I am a little vertically challenged at 5"7 and I have noticed that the stand actually hits me in the back of the legs at times while walking and has actually ripped a couple pair of pants. My only suggestion would be to set up the shoulder straps to carry the stand a little higher. Overall, awesome product and would definately buy again and recommend."
