Good holding power

,
September 8, 2011
By Henweigh
from Puget Sound, WA
Advantages: Design, Features
"I have used the Richter Anchor three times since I purchased it. Each time it held my 13 Smokercraft Alaskan very well. I only had a 3:1 scope, and it was enough. The rubber coating does a good job of protecting the interior of the boat during storage."

AN ANCHOR THAT DOES WHAT YOU BOUGHT IT FOR

,

By stingraystan

Advantages: Design, it works
"WOW! AN ANCHOR THAT WORKS. Of all the things in my boat that I rely on to do their job properly, this anchor is on the top of the list as being dependable. I added a length of chain to it as it recommends and this anchor has never failed me. I use two anchors and one of them is not a Richter and I always struggle with getting it to hold. I am about to purchase another Richter to replace it. With two of these anchors in my boat, anchoring can be elliminated from the aggrevation list. It is worth the price."

Best All Around Anchor You'll Ever Buy

,
May 18, 2010
By ABWalleyeGuy
from Alberta Canada
Advantages: Design, High Quality, Features
"Spend the extra couple bucks and get this gem. It's heavy enough to penetrate weeds, the flukes catch bottom, rocks etc, and you just give it a quick tug up and the anchor pulls straight up every time.
I have bought a navy style, a digger style and this one. This one is far and away the best.
The largest one would do well holding in a river current."

Rickter Anchor

,
February 10, 2010
By MarkinOhio
from Ohio
Advantages: Design
"I have a Pontoon Boat and anchoring it is a challenge. After trying almost every anchor out there and being extremely dissatisfied, the Rickter is the only anchor that holds everytime, even in windy conditions on a mud or sand bottom! Save yourself the hassle and frustration and either start out with it or switch over to it. You will be glad you did."

Best Anchor I ever used

,
May 25, 2009
By Liv4fishn
from Northern Wisconsin
Advantages: Design, Durability, High Quality
Disadvantages: cost
"This is the best anchor I have ever used. It holds my boat in all weather conditions and I have never had an issue with it holding winds up to 20mph. Last year I lost mine. Somehow my rope clip came undone and I brought up an empty rope. I tried retrieving the anchor by casting musky baits over the area but was unable to find it. So now I am buying a new one. It's the only one I'll ever use. The loss was not a flaw of the anchor but a flaw of the clip I had holding it."

Great anchor for a variety of situations!

,
February 10, 2009
By fishfan
from IL
"My fishing partner has 2 of these anchors in his boat, and we use them in all different weather conditions, lake bottom types and currents, and they hold very well!
This anchor holds well in sand, muck, gravel and rocks, and it comes up relatively clean every time. It's fairly easy to dislodge when you need to move it, but it holds tight until then. The only tough time we had getting the anchor free, was from a tree stump, and a little tug from the motor was all it took to get it free.
The best example of the power of this anchor came last fall when we were trying to fish a small creek inlet on a very windy, choppy bay. We threw both anchors out, one front and one rear, parallel to shore, and we barely drifted. It was nice not having to deal with the aggravation of moving and re-anchoring every 10 or 15 minuets to hold a nice productive spot.
If you need good holding power in a variety of weather and water conditions on lakes and rivers with many different types of bottom conditions, then this anchor will serve you well. Highly recommended!"
