Richter Anchor

This Richter Anchor is a great anchor for tough waters. Made from iron/steel, this anchor incorporates an aggressive fluke pattern as well as a rock-solid centered weight design. The handy release bar ensures near 100% retrievability. Most often preferred for reliability in varied bottoms and water conditions.

Best Anchor I ever used, May 25, 2009

Advantages: Design, Durability, High Quality
Disadvantages: cost

"This is the best anchor I have ever used. It holds my boat in all weather conditions and I have never had an issue with it holding winds up to 20mph. Last year I lost mine. Somehow my rope clip came undone and I brought up an empty rope. I tried retrieving the anchor by casting musky baits over the area but was unable to find it. So now I am buying a new one. It's the only one I'll ever use. The loss was not a flaw of the anchor but a flaw of the clip I had holding it."

Great anchor for a variety of situations!, February 10, 2009
By fishfan from IL

"My fishing partner has 2 of these anchors in his boat, and we use them in all different weather conditions, lake bottom types and currents, and they hold very well!

This anchor holds well in sand, muck, gravel and rocks, and it comes up relatively clean every time. It's fairly easy to dislodge when you need to move it, but it holds tight until then. The only tough time we had getting the anchor free, was from a tree stump, and a little tug from the motor was all it took to get it free.

The best example of the power of this anchor came last fall when we were trying to fish a small creek inlet on a very windy, choppy bay. We threw both anchors out, one front and one rear, parallel to shore, and we barely drifted. It was nice not having to deal with the aggravation of moving and re-anchoring every 10 or 15 minuets to hold a nice productive spot.

If you need good holding power in a variety of weather and water conditions on lakes and rivers with many different types of bottom conditions, then this anchor will serve you well. Highly recommended!
