4 Pound Beaver Bug Bass

Advantages: Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money

"A friend had recently turned me on to Beaver baits. So, I decided to browse BPS to see what they offered. When I saw the Beaver Bug, I got very excited because I am a big fan of tube baits and these seemed like a great combination of tube and beav.
First time on the water with these, the bite was very tough. All the usual suspects weren't doing the job at all. I decided to try one of my new Beaver Bugs in Black/Red Flake T-rigged with a 1/8 oz. Gambler screw-in bullet weight. First cast, I get a solid pick-up. But, when I reared back for the big hookset, all I got was air ... sending me sprawling onto my butt!
When I stopped laughing, I made another "dinnertime" cast. Again, I got a solid pick-up, reared back and swung for the fences ... BAM! I was treated to a great tussle from a nearly four pound beast (pictured).
These baits are great for tough bites or highly pressured lakes where crawdads are one of the main forages. You can bet that the fish you're after haven't seen many, if any, of these.

Pitch it of Flip it, December 30, 2008
By FIGJAM from Middle TN

"This is one awesome creature bait. I used this past summer and fall flipping it and pitching it into some timber and stump fields and killed the competition in the tournament. It was a nice payday that day. You can usually find a color that works good on your lake. The scent on these are great too."

Good fish producer, March 13, 2008
By stomp6767 from Shreveport, La.

"I tried this lure as an alternative to other, more expensive Beaver lures. I liked that the lure had a skirt rather than a tail, thinking that would create more action. The Beaver Bug has produced for me and is one of my favorite soft plastics to fish. I use a 3/0 hook and 1/8 oz. weight most of the time, but am not beyond fishing it weightless or heavier (in thick grass). This lure is also a change from fishing a tube. One of Bass Pro's better products (notice where it's made)!!!"
