Sexy's Real Review, April 8, 2009

"I have owned this prop for four years. I fish in a lot in moderate cover and had always had problems getting my two bladed prop tangled in any weeds. When I upgraded to the Machete I felt like Bobby Flay was down there preparing sushi for me while I fished. Granted, a few times when fishing in heavy cover with the addition of lily pads I had to pull the trolley motor half out of the water because it was just “too much” and the Machete III was unable to keep up. I believe that this prop is best suited for open to moderate/moderate-heavy conditions. Other than heavy cover areas it works amazingly (faster and way less congested than a two prop).

I have since wondered how the Machete III “glass” prop would do in heavy cover situations, but this was the more efficient buy for the type of cover I normally fish in (open to moderate). If you plan on doing a lot of heavy cover fishing or moderate to heavy fishing then you may want to consider the “glass” edition of this prop.

**Pros**
1. Easy to install
2. Does well in moderate to moderate-heavy cover.
3. Comes with entire kit; including: prop, pin, and nut
3. Extremely sharp plastic blades (be careful when handling and have trolley motor disconnected when installing)

**Cons**
1. Blades dull and chip very easily. If I tournament fished I would probably replace this yearly
2. Not the best for heavy cover fishing, but performs fair under moderate exposure

The only thing that I want to add is to always carry an extra prop, pins, and caps with you when fishing. You never know when/if your prop is going to stop working, fall off, or break during use.

Be happy, be prepared!

"This is a good open water prop and it does well on windy days. However, in heavy cover this prop bogs down with weeds quickly and I've noticed this prop chips and bends easily. I've attached a picture of the best Motorguide prop I've found for heavy cover situations so far."

"Well this product is quite dependable its rugged and have not had trouble from any weed. Although it has one draw back my nut kept slipping off and i lost one prop already try a lock washer or a lock nut to reinforce the exhisting hardware."

Good product, December 15, 2006

"This product performs well, however, the composit of the material needs some refining to help it keep it's original shape.
If you accidently bump an underwater structure, the product does not completely return to it's original shape which causes it to be out of balance and it vibrates excessively.
