"For storage through the winter, or when you don't have line on these then they are okay, but if you plan on using them on the rod with them all spooled up then they will wear out fast. Not a lot of padding so they don't offer a lot of protection, just enough to ward off scuffing. With them on a spooled combo the line will shred the neoprene because there are no reinforcements on that front edge. Not bad for a couple bucks, but the Johnny Morris signature bait cast covers are much better."

"I picked up the round baitcast and spinning reel covers for all my reels last week and love them. I was afraid that the spinning covers wouldn’t fit my larger Abu Garcia spinning reels but they do! The blue colored material in the photos is what allows the cover to “stretch” to fit around the bigger reels.
The only thing I didn’t see was the “low-profile” baitcast reel covers. They only list the “round” and “spinning” ones on the website, but in the store they have a low-profile one. The low-profile covers fit the standard sized baitcasting reels whereas the round cover fits the bigger ones.
Best buy for the price/quality!"

"These are the same as the low profile reel covers for bass reels and they're every bit as good and nessessary for keeping your reels clean and safe.
It doesn't matter if your reel is $40 or $400, this is a cheap way to protect your investment. They fit snug and they are a snap to put on and take off. They protect against "boat rash" and other types of cosmetic damage, while keeping dust and dirt out of the gear box.
Its definitely worth using these on all your reels."

"I reviewed the low profile version and I own a couple of these too. Just as the low profile cover, these are a wise investment. I am willing to bet that these things along with proper maintenance can significantly prolong the life of your reels. Its only a few bucks...why wouldn't you have these?"

"I have just recently got some of these for christmas....I like em alot....My buddy messed up when he bought me the kind for round baitcasters cause I fish nothing but low-profile baitcasters....BUT these work just fine....their not as hugging to the reel as the low profiles are...but they cover everything just as good if not better....their not gonna blow off ....they strap under the reel....I got em in blue for less heat in the middle of summer....I give em a A++++...they'll come in handy on those dusty or rainy days.....thanks alot Bass pro"
