"I just got one this past July have landed a mess of channel cat with it have yet to hook on to a big one with it but on 24" ones she brings them in with no problem . Go ahead buy you one ,I am going to get to more I now have the 80 but thinking of getting the 70 and 80 as soon as I come up with what rods to marry the up to."

"i have the catmaxx 80 for a 9 foot rod and the catmaxx 70 for a 8 foot rod. i fish in the potomac river and have cought huge channel cats with these combinations. no problems at all. easy to work and very strong. great buy for the bucks. thumbs up bass pro shops you did your homework!!! good luck with the cats!!!"

"I bought this reel, just before it went on sale, and still do not regret it. It was a great buy. I was hestitate because the price was so low. And I wanted a good catfishing reel. But it turned out being better than alot of the more expensive reels. Would not hestitate a bit to purchase one. This reel is tough, and has alot of line capacity. Very smooth cast, reel, and drag. Was suprised for as big as it is, that it operated like medium reel. Will probably buy another while they are on sale."

"I purchased this reel after checking all the rest in my area that discribed themselves as 'catfish reels'. For the price, this one looked to be the best purchase after checking the other reviews on it. I was not able to get the reel out into action for a few weeks due to the weather and flooding in our area. But when I finally got to use it, this reel out performed all the previous reels I have used. I think it's a 'keeper'."
