"Very easy to install with the supplied "key", which is a special socket. All you need is an adjustable wrench. It appears that there are many different "keys" so this should be a quite secure setup. One note, you will not be able to use a prop nut retainer."

"I purchased my new McGard Prop Lock today because I have used them in the past with great success. When someone else is complaining about their prop being stolen, I always recomend McGard. With the cost of new stainless props being around $700, $50 dollars seems like a small price to pay for a little piece of mind."

"Installation was easy. it only took 5 minutes while standing in the water at the boat launch. Ok, it would have easier on dry land.
Note from a boat repair shop: Keep up with the lock!!"

"this is for the guys who wrote about prop lock, it seems to me that it was to easy to install, did either of you have problems with it coming loose after awhile, i just bought it and put it on, i guess i`m just scared it will back off and i will lose my prop."

"I bought this lock for my Tempest Plus prop about 1 year ago. I leave it on the boat at all times. This lock does not hinder the performance of my boat in any way. After a year of use it still looks like new and it works great too. I only use my rig in fresh water so I don't know how it would hold up in the salt. For fresh water use I give it 5 stars."

"I got one of these for my yamaha motor about one and a half years ago, and it works very well. I use it in and out of the water, and it has held up great. Now I don't always worry about losing the prop to theft."
