Bigger not always better,August 23, 2009

Advantages: Ease of use, Value for money Disadvantages: needs a longer rainfly
"Hubby and I used the smaller version of this tent for several years and loved it. It is still in great shape, but we thought the 10x10 size would be even better. It seems to be of the same quality but there are a couple differences.
This one has only 2 very long poles...the other had 4 smaller ones that snapped into a top piece. Both work well, but the 4 poles were much easier to work with IMO.
The rainfly (top) that comes with the tent is not long enough to keep the rain out if you want the windows down. The rain drips off the top and comes through the bottom portion of the screen windows. We spent the extra $60 or so for the additional rainfly which works very well. We didn't need the additional rainfly with the smaller version.
While the floor of this tent is bigger, the tent doesn't seem that much bigger because the sides of this one are sloped towards the top at a greater angle. The smaller one has fairly straight sides. The additional height in this one is nice, but wasn't a necessity.
We still use the tent about once a month, and wouldn't want to go back to camping without it. For just the two (sometimes 3) of us, the smaller one worked just as well. This one does have a larger carry bag...that's a plus. If buying this tent, better plan on buying the additional rainfly.
The tent goes up and down easily in about 15 minutes, and attaches and re-attaches to the vehicle very quickly. We sleep in the vehicle and use the tent primarily for storage of the gear. Would still recommend this one, but the longer rainfly should be included."

"I bought the Sportz® Full-size SUV Tent a few months back to use with my SilveradoHD 4x4. I have a tall shell on the back of my truck. Last week was my first opportunity to use it. I decided to have a dry run and set it up in my front yard. I was pleasantly surprized on how easy it was to put together. Not long after my neighbor came over and after an inspection wanted to know where he could get one. During our subsequent trip several people stopped by our campsite and also asked the same question. One day we decided to take a drive and in a few minutes we were on the road our tent zipped up and waiting for our return. This is a great product and I highly recommend it. AKA C.O.D. MSgt Stryker"

Great for Xterra,November 14, 2007

"My wife and I bought a Xterra then got this tent online to compliment the suv. We have had it for 2 years using it on average once a month. It does stand alone or can hook up to your SUV as advertised. It's a little top heavy and difficult to put up on a windy day or at the lake with wind gust. Nice alternative to 2 room tent as well."
