"An update on my purchase. I hate to say it but it is just getting worse and worse. All the satiny material inside is pulling away from the gore tex outer shell. I may have worn this parka about 10 times in the last 2 seasons, went to wear for the first time this year and the insides near the sleeves have all pulled away. One doesn't even have the "snap " on it any more for the zip in jacket. Beware, would suggest going to the store to purchase this item and not mail order this way you can check and see it the one you want has any issues. Think i am going to write BPS customer service a letter on this one as this is WAY too much to spend on a poor quality parka."

"I, like all of us has had there share of cheap rain ware. and it's nice to have finally found a great out fit. I don't think any clothing should cost this much but I'm tired of rips and wet underwear! it's a must if your out doors in all weather types. really a great buy."

"I am on my 2nd season with this parka. The "elastic string" that goes thru the hood has pulled out of the soft satiny material and i have had to have it re sewn. Other than that this is a great parka. May have gotten a bad one but if you are purchasing one i would suggest going to the store and looking closely at this, it is quite dissapointing to spend this much on a high line parka and then have this happen."

"Finally make the purchase after reading up on the parka and bibs. Took it up to my yearly fly in trip at a lake near in north ontario near Hudson's Bay where the weather is unpredictable. Portaged to a lake where it started to rain with heavy winds for 6 straight hours. Had the parka and bibs on the whole time. Got back to the cabin and unzipped. Not a drop of water that got through. Was also warm during thw whole time. Would recommend this to everyone.

"I bought this parka last year primarily for hiking. I spent 3 months as a mountain guide in New Mexico, and it rained A LOT! It never leaked and is still working well. I would recommend this to any fisherman or outdoorsman. The only draw backs are that it is not very packable and the fleece zip-in is sold sperately. Other than that it has plenty of room to store everything you'll need."

"I love this parka but wish that you did not have to purchase the fleece separately. No leaking at the seams, so in the biggest of rain storms, you will stay dry. Add a fleece and it is a great winter fishing parka."

"I bought the Pro Qualifier Parka and Bib last year during a Holiday Sale and have never regreted the purchase. I had wanted the 100 MPH suit, but the Pro Qualifier was on sale. This has really made a dramatic difference in my cold and wet weather fishing, allowing me to stay on the water for longer periods of time."

Grate Parka, but...,March 16, 2008

"I like the parka. I don't live ware it gets cold (California) freezing maybe 10 days a year), but it dose get rain. I bought the parka primarily for the rain. If I was concerned about cold and rain, I would add layers, such as a down jacket (under the parka). It could use a minor improvement or two, to become perfect: 1) The hood is attached, and dose not have a place it can be stowed. Or, there is no Velcro straps, to roll it up with; either of these would be good. (Hint. I used the strap that is for sizing the hood for this peruse: Reposition the strap though the "D" ring that for hanging the parka, then place it back to ware it goes.) 2) The fleece lining inside the pockets, nice but, is only on one side of the pocket, the out side facing side. It would be nice if the pockets were fully lined."

"What a great jacket! It's lightweight, which makes it great for casting all day. It's very dry inside, and have fished in it in the rain, hail, and snow. This jacket is also great for going on the slopes. I've snowboarded with this jacket, and it is really easy and light to wear. One con is it isn't the warmest jacket, but dressing in layers could easily fix that small problem. Good job Bass Pro on making another good product!"

"I have owned other Gore-Tex parka's and pants, but they weren't as comfortable as the Pro Qualifier products. I'm a tournament fisherman, so it's important that I can move freely without being restricted by the design of the coat. With this parka, I can make 1000 casts in a day without even noticing I'm wearing Gore-Tex outerwear, which is usually pretty stiff. Good Job Bass Pro Shops!"

"I purchased the Pro Qualifier Parka a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier with it. I've worn this parka during some very cold, and windy days and remained warm throughout, even without the available zip-in liner. The fleece lined pockets are very nice, they'll warm your hands up quick. Warm, dry and comfortable. I recommend this parka!"

"I have used the parka and bibs several times since December 2006. This suit has plenty of room, it is easy to put on and take off, and it really blocks the wind when running from one fishing spot to the other. I bought mine a size bigger than usual to allow for layers of other cloths. Smart move. The pockets, seams and zippers have worked great so far. The hood is large enough to fit over hats and glasses. The only thing I wish it had is a carry bag to keep it protected when not in use. I use a zipper bag with hats, extra socks and gloves in case something gets wet, so I store the suit there also. Cold weather clothing has really come a long way over the last few years. If you use this suit as an outer layer, over other warm cloths, you will be happy with it. I would buy it again."
