"Very nice lure. I like t sethese in a tandem with the Zoom Baby Brush Hogs. When one doesn't work, the other usually will. You can fish these weightless or with a small split-shot weight. It is really designed for heavt tackle and a flippin' stick but a skilled angler can getthseo perform equally well with a baitcasting reel and a stiff worm rod. Watch your line likea hawk as the lure sinks. Very seldom doou ctually "FEEL" the strike because they almost always hit on the fall. If yourlnequickly moves off to one side or suddenly goes very slack, set the hook.
Tip: If you are missing a lot of strikes with these, it may be because of how thick the plastic is. I find it better to stick the hook ALL THE WAY THROUGH the body and then lay te barb up against the underside of the lure. That way it is still weedless but you get a lot more power on the hookset.
One more thing: The design of the lure combined with the Berkley Powercent seems to attract CATFISH just as much as it does Bass. I've already caught 3 by accident. So don't be surprised if that fish on the end of your line isn't exactly what you had in mind. But they are ALL fun to catch!"

"This is great to use texas rigged or even on an ultralight rig with no weight. You get a lot of action with this bait and with the wings, it really slows down the sink rate and gives you a "Dying Fish" look. Great in heavy brush."

"Tried this bait in the black color for the first time yesterday. Fished a local lake with a lot of weeds. Always wanted something that got hung up less than a jig. The hog is the ticket. Rigged texas style with a pegged weight. 5/0 EWG hook. Get your flipping stick out and flip it into the weeds. Let it sink to the bottom, watch your line carefully, most hits come on the fall. Lift it and drop it a few times and flip it back out. I caught 11 bass, the best 5 fish in the 3lb. range. I will be ordering more!"

"I saw these baits while watching a fishing show and decided to try them. Man am I glad I did because the first time I tried them I had bass hitting the Power Hawg like they were starving. I miss some due to the 2/0 hook I was using. I started using a 5/0 hook with a wide gap and ooh my goodness it was on. I let it drop and the line starts running in a different direction. I have bass hit before I get the lure in the water good. This was only the first use. Since then I have used them countless times and the same results. I am sold on these lures. I have been using the red bug, but I am going to try the junebug and the pumpkin which I am sure I will have the same results. I love this bait."

"I'm hooked on these, and so are the fish. Used this for the first time yesterday and caught a couple nice bass, about a 2 or 3 pounder and a 5 or 6 pounder. These baits have all sorts of appendages to get the bass' attention. Have great movement in the water and the scent of Powerbait. I like Green Pumpkin. Great for flippin' and pitchin' or for swimmin'. I will definately be using these more often."
