"Airflow is non-exisitent. Rain Tarp covers windows on sides. May be good for two person tent. Wish I had shopped around for a bigger tent with more airflow."

It's ok,July 26, 2009
By JohnZinOhiofrom Cincinnati, OH
Advantages: Ease of use Disadvantages: Quality, poor design
"Yes, it's easy to set up and it's light ... and the price is right. Now here are the things that could have been done better:
- There should be no seams in the floor. All seams eventually leak. That's why top of the line tents don't have floor seams.
- Coleman recommends that you seal the seams prior to use (and it's a very good idea). Could they have bothered to include seam sealer with the tent?
- In order to save money on windows, the sides are open mesh. That means if you use it in cold weather, it will lose heat in a big way.
- The shock-corded poles are of inferior quality and come apart quite easily while you're trying to set up (or take down) the tent.
- The carrying bag works great, provided you have a way to vacuum pack your tent. Otherwise, you'll have a fun time trying to get it back in the bag.
If you're just looking to occasionally take the family out to a weekend campsite or let the kids camp out in the back yard, this will probably work fine. Otherwise, I would spend the money on a better tent."

Great Tent for the family,May 20, 2008
By Ozarkianfrom Lemoore, CA
"We used this tent for a family camping trip last summer. It worked great and had plenty of room for our family of 4. We were able to get 1 double size and 2 twin size air mattresses into it. Very durable and kept the weather out."

Pleasantly Surprised,May 5, 2008
By Alan84from MS
"This tent faired very well in solid rain for about 38 hours in a row. I did take the time to seal ALL the seams before the trip though, and would recommend doing that for any new tent. During our long rain, it was very windy and at times an extremely heavy rain, but we had no leaks with the exception of one corner. This back corner was sitting in about 2 inches deep of slowly running drainage rainwater and a little bit of water leaked in very slowly: remarkably only enough for a washcloth to soak up. I set this tent up at home before the trip and found out that all the guy lines on the rain fly absolutely must be used. With the guy lines in place, this tent stood up to some pretty fast wind gusts with no problem at all. Ventilation was comfortable, and kept condensation from forming. My wife and I, and our dog, with a queen size bed and a dog carrier fit with extra room to stand and move around very comfortably. Overall, I was very pleased with this tent , especially after having just returned a different tent of a "better" brand that cost more than twice as much as this tent."

It didn't leak or blow away!!,January 20, 2008
By FamyCarCampfrom Florida
"Bought this tent to go to Okeechobee Florida car camping with family for the first time. I have been backpacking alone for years never had the need for a family tent. Did more research than I did to purchase last 2 houses. Wanted something large enough for myself, wife and 3 year old with thought of adding to family in future. Needed tent with floor space and also height as I am 6,1 knowing I wouldn't be standing up but I didn't want to be cramed either. Living in Florida now I was also very concerned with a tent that could vent hot air but also keep the family dry. NOT BY CHOICE WE PUT THIS TENT TO THE MAXIMUM TEST! On Saturday 1-19-2008 at 9:40 P.M the sky opened up- not a little rain but 2 hours of the heaviest rain I have ever camped in with sustained 20 mph wind with gusts up to 30 mph. It was also the first time I had ever used additional tie downs for the rain fly- I will always use the additional tie downs from now on. At 2:45 A.M I was awakened by the side of the tent imploding on us, then it would pop back into place. I went out to check on the tie downs. Everything was fine however our neighbors in the next tent site didn't fair so well. The wind had blown over their tent and they were inside their car. Another family we went camping with bought a Bass Pro Shops 12x12 tent with dividing room. It looked great when it was first set up but at 2:45 it looked like a yard sale. Too many poles for additional windows on rain fly-probably good for perfect weather. 2 of their poles actually broke at the ends. I suggest sticking with proven dome design. We eventually moved the cars to block some of the wind. OUR TENT NEVER LEAKED OR BLEW OVER- VERY SOLID DESIGN. Not even the morning dew or condensation on teh side walls. It kept my family dry. Coleman boasted about this weather tech- guaranteed not to leak. I believe it now! Would strongly recommend this to any family. It has more than adequate floor space and height so you dont feel cramed."

Awesome Tent!,July 11, 2006
By Happy Camper!from Pompano Beach, FL
"For someone who has absolutely no experience in tent camping, this Coleman tent is the best! The way it was engineered for setup is not only easy to understand but easy to set up. I would never buy anything else than a Coleman tent. I fact, I just bought a screen room because of the way Coleman designs their product."
