Best Stove on the Market,February 18, 2009
By MObikerfrom Springfield, MO
"I have seen a lot of different backpacking stoves in my day. There are definitely a few more expensive than the Jetboil. But, for the life of me, I can't figure out why. This stove boils water in 2 min., is super light, comes with a cup to drink or eat out of, and is a self-contained in the cup when not in use. It is top of the line and not inexpensive by any means. So when I say there are some more expensive ones out there, I don't mean a lot. If you can buy one thing for backpacking, make it a Jetboil and you won't be disappointed."

Great Design,September 6, 2008

"I like the looks and feel of this stove, its great to keep in the pack for emergencies or for trekking. The only problem I have discovered so far is that even though it was bought new the cup seems worn and loose.when mounted on the burner."

Excellent Motorcycle Camping stove,September 6, 2006
By CampingPastorfrom SW Wisconsin
"This unit is great as it stores all in itself. Two units--buy an extra personal cook container and it will give you room to store two extra fuel units which will easily last you two full weeks. I had one unit last one week cooking both coffee, breakfast (excellent oatmeal) and lunch also. The rehydrating meals available everywhere are GREAT with this system. Get also some Nalgene bottles to take fresh water along and you will be all set. The only utensils you need are a few long handled teaspoons. That is the one thing I would commend out of the ordinary. Beyond that, the system really is self contained. I would recommend buying all the extras that are available as I did. They all work well and are not simple fluff. The group cook system works well for groups greater than two... but would not be needed for only one unless you need a fry pan type system then I would commend getting it even for one person. Also be sure to get the stabilizing piece, and the coffee press.
Your "campfire coffee" will exceed that of the good stuff you make at home--no kidding. Pay careful attention to the instructions. Do NOT put the coffee press on while heating the water. The hot water pressure comes up VERY FAST as this system boils 2 cups of water lightning fast; a minute or so. You do not have time to look away and cook. It cooks THAT FAST.
Frankly, we had no problem with coffee grounds in our camp coffee. inasmuch as we poured the coffee out of the jetboil cup into coffee cups for consumption. The enameled steel cups we had worked well but they were hot to the touch. The insulated stainless steel versions would be better though they cost a bit more.
This unit works best for rehydrating-type meals, but the group pot can easily fry up eggs and steak, fresh fish or veggies, no problem. Any way you go, for light packing situations like motorcycle camping, this unit cannot be beat.
No doubt for large camps large cooktops and griddles may be in order, but for lightweight compact stoves--this is hands down, the easiest and most trouble free, even of the ultra lite units I have tried.
Hope this helps."

"I've never seen water boil so fast! This is an excellent product and it well designed. The only drawback is the few coffee grinds you get in your coffee."
