"I ordered the three piece set awhile back and have since used it quite a bit. My initial impression was that this was a good high quality knife set. You can get these knives razor sharp in no time at all and will do most anything they are asked to do in the kitchen or on the boat. The oversized handles on them feel good in hand however they are the solid hdpe and not a soft as what was advertised. Blade flexability is there but in limited supply and makes some filleting cuts a little tricky. I did recently purchase another Dexter knife and to my surprise it was not the same as the one in this kit. The original Dexter Russell knives are, I feel, of better quality than the Russel international ones sold in this kit. All around these are still good knives, but I just wish Bass Pro would package the 3 and 4 piece kits with the original knives instead of the internationals. Looking for good knives for the boat...these are them. As for the kitchen go with the originals."

"The Russell Internation set is a true gem. These knives can clean bass to large amberjacks. Now my set is used mainly as a shark fishing prep kit, rigging rays, cutting bait, leader slicing, you name it. When I am done I usually chunk them in the sand, throw them in a dead bait filled ice chest with no worries. There knives were meant to take a beating. In fact in the picture below my knife just got back from a trip of cutting whiting up all day for shark and bull red bait on the coast. She was left uncleaned in a bag for 2 months. I took her out, ran her under some hot water, performed a little scrubbing, shazam! back to normal!"
