Winchester® Xtended™ Range Turkey Loads Shotshells

Winchester® Xtended™ Range Turkey Loads Shotshells

Want a high-speed, high-impact load that maintains a tight center pattern at ranges further than you are typically comfortable taking a shot? In 2005, Winchester raised the bar in turkey load performance with the introduction of the Xtended Range line. The tungsten-based shot is 10% more dense than lead and delivers superior downrange performance in terms of core pattern grouping and pellet energy. Consistently round and uniformly smooth shot makes for far fewer flyers from your patterns and results in more pellets being delivered on target. Thousands of gobblers were taken with these loads all over the country during the 2005 spring season. The key to Winchester Xtended Range Hi-Density superior ballistics is the consistent shape, size, weight, and pellet count per ounce of shot. Hi-Density shot consistently provides a high level of performance through tighter patterns and unsurpassed knockdown power. Muzzle velocity of 1225 fps. 10 rounds per box.

Advantages: Performs well, Quality

"I have tried a bunch of different turkey loads and can pattern this one at great, even at long range.

I shoot a Mossberg 835, and it patterns great. I have yet to shoot at a turkey, but after sighting in on the Red Head turkey target, it looks like if one does come in, it's a gonner for sure.

Gobble Stopper, March 25, 2009
By sick from Springfield, Mo.

"In my new 835 Mossberg thumbhole gun with an Indian Creek Choke, I put 56 pellets in the kill zone at 40 yards and over 200 pellets total were in the 12 inch target. I have used a number of different loads and nothing else comes close to this one."

Excellent !!!, March 21, 2009
By INRobbins from Zionsville, IN

"These loads art bad news for turkey. These have amazing patters when used with the right choke. With the Indian Creek Black Diamond choke, shooting the #6 shot I consistently had 150 pellets in a 10" circle at 40 yards. I also compared the down range energy shooting at some sheet metal, the #6 would be similar to shooting #4 lead (at 40 yards). Spend the money and get these shells, you will not regret it."

No second shot needed!, January 27, 2009
By NKram622 from Conyers, GA

"This by far the best turkey load I have ever used. Patterning with this load exceeds all other loads. I have taken five toms with this shot since I started using it and none of them ever had a chance to run. I shot a double on Rios in San Angelo TX. Trust me it is worth the money to know you will knock them dead."

"Best shot pattern I've ever seen. I bagged a 21 lb. gobbler this spring at 40 yards and dropped him in his tracks. I used 3-1/2" #6 shot and counted 18 pellets in his neck and 6 in the head. I would think with the #5 shot you could reach out to 60 yards with no problem. When pattering my gun I counted 44 pellets in the kill zone at 45 yards. Pretty awesome."

"These shells shoot so tight that at 40 yards the look like most turkey shells at 30. But since they are so tight that you could miss at close range."

Knock'em down, March 30, 2008
By NorthCarolina from North Carolina

"Me and my buddy uses these shells in our Brownings and Fren. guns. These shells are unreal. we have shot many of birds with them and they always seem to amaze us. They pattern good from close range to long range. we have shot several birds at ranges over 60 yeards!!! Even at long ranges they will knock them down. at close rang they do unbelieveable amounts of damage."

Blood trailed turkey., July 16, 2006
By Ken47 from Upton, KY

"While hunting turkey this spring in KY, I had to take a shot at a longbeard at 45 yards before he left the area with hens. In the excitement of the moment, I hit him just above the beard. He ran into the woods at 60 yards at which time I fired the second shot. The first shot hit him so hard we could blood trail him to where he was laying after being hit by the second shot. The Xtended Range 3 1/2 #6s are awsume. Spring before last I killed a bird at 42 yards and it almost decapitated him. I highly recommend this ammo!"
