"purchased the pflueger president xt spinner 2500 and pflueger 6'6" graphite combo for a great price of $79.99. great spinner, smooth and strong, however, rod tip snapped first time out landing a 4 lb bass. highly recommend the spinner but stick with the ugly stick rod. 25 yrs and no breaks with ugly sticks."

"... with a Pflueger! I can't speak for the XPS rod; I bought the true combo with the Pflueger President rod and reel and it is everything one could want or need. I've thrown 300 dollar bait casting reels that don't compare to this one. The look and feel of it are "it"! Now all three of my go-to combos are Pflueger; it has made that kind of impact. "this reel is amazing. only had to oil it once in 2 years because the bearings were getting noisy and the line roller wasn't working smoothly. got some line twist but the oiling helped. casts great and the drag is good too. i fish in lots of weeds and it is strong enough to pull in a four pounder and lots of weeds. easy to use"

"You can't go wrong with this combo. Some things you need to be aware of though. The butt screw-on foam piece will work itself loose from hand and body friction the more you fish so just tighten it down from time to time. You also have to take care not to use gorilla strength when tightening down the reel into the seat (any cork will crack with enough tension). Like most things, human error plays a big role in success or failure. This combo is very popular, and with good reason. With the proper care and applicatons(properly matching gear to scenarios), you will get years of reliable service from this combo."
