Great saltwater rod, October 20, 2009

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money

"I bought the 7'0" medium heavy rod with extra fast action and paired it with a Abu Garcia 6500 c3 with #50 braid line. It makes for a great combo for larger inshore fish--reds, tarpon, snook, etc. The rod has a lot of backbone but is still wonderfully suited for smaller species. It also has high quality cork grips and nice line guides. The balance is good though I feel it could use a little more weight in the butt end with the combo I have, I'll probably experiment with that. Overall pretty happy with my purchase."

Light and strong, June 19, 2009

"I purchased the TMC76H last year for a new baitcast reel, Calcutta 401. This is the 1st baitcaster I ever used. I was impressed with the light weight and durability of this rod. I can cast plugs and spoons all day and I feel as though I'm using my fresh water bassoutfit. It does not cast as far as my 9.5 St.Croix but it is not more than 10 yds difference. It is easyer to use on piers and jetties and handles large stripers and blues effortlessly. This rod and reel setup is ideal for my needs. In a couple of weeks I'll be on board my new kayak. This size should be perfect for working large fish around the bow and stern. Hope I have the proper terms new to boating ha ha ha. If you see a bright yellow Hobie mirage out there come over and introduce yourself. Tight lines!"
