Performance bass rods so light, you can fish sunup to sundown - and you probably won't even remember holding a rod in your hands. G.Loomis has just pushed the rod building envelope beyond all recognition with this technique-specific series. The revolution begins with top-of-the-line GLX graphite blanks, specially adapted with precise tapers perfectly adapted to your favorite hawg-calling approach and fitted with the unique Recoil® guide system. These are perhaps the lightest, most resilient guides ever made, a hybrid blend of nickel and titanium that keeps the weight down and takes all the worries out of endless casting and retrieving. The ultra-fast actions let the rod load quickly at the tip, so you can pitch or cast on a low trajectory, using very short strokes - for increased accuracy and efficiency. The power zone has been extended toward the tip, giving you the muscle to bring that big bucketmouth to hand. For out-and-out sensitivity, strength and control, it's simply the best there is. Great rod,November 10, 2009
By RBKINGfrom Ontario, Canada
Advantages: Performs well Disadvantages: price
"No doubt about it, this rod is one of the best fishing rods out on the market today! It casts great, it is incredibly light weight, very sensitive, and really strong. All excellent qualities to look for in any rod! But unfortunately the price point for this rod is outrageous! I am a true believer that you get what you pay for in any purchase, but $400 for a fishing rod is crazy, but hey if you all the money to burn then go for it, you will be very impressed. One more thing to add, living in Canada, the warranty for Loomis rods was embarrassing, but now that Shimano has taken full responsibility for Loomis warranties I give them two thumbs up! Cheers!!!"

Best on the market,July 16, 2008
By ZNickeyfrom Baltimore, MD
"The GLX is the lightest and strongest rod in its class, period. I do not know of any rod that is lighter then the GLX, yet remains its strength. The sensitivity is superior to any other rod I have ever fished, custom or not. The Fuji SiC guides are the best out their and well proven in the field. Indeed you do pay some for the name, but you get something superior to anything else; a hand crafted rod which was hand crafted in America. Like any other rod, it does not defy the laws of physics and if you use the wrong test line, it can break. Since it is unpainted, if you use it in saltwater and do not rinse it off, it will corrode. Additionally, since it is not painted, a small knick or chip will mean the rod will break in a fight with a fish, so don't let that happen. High sticking with these graphite rods are the worst thing you can do and they will cause them to snap; these rods are designed to handle the load of the fish throughout the entire rod; not just the top. If by chance you do break them, you have a good company backing them up. This rod is the best there is."

why spend the $ on this ?,June 26, 2008
By Flbonefisherfrom south Florida
"I borrowed this rod from a buddy for a full day of bass fishing. This rod is fine, it is light, casts well, and is comfortable but it is not worth $ 350. Rods half this price are just as nice. The G loomis name alone must be worth 100 bucks because I can think of rods I like better under $ 200. Diawa, American Rodsmiths and Bass Pro Shops all make rods similar in weight, quality, and performance. If you do have your heart set on spending almost 400 dollars on a rod you might as well get a rod custom made to your specifications then spend the money on this. A good rod but there are so many better choices for less money."

G Loomis review,June 17, 2007
By BassGod
"Just bought one of these last week after breaking one of my All Star's. Fishing in about 18 ft. of water I felt a tap, set the hook, and SNAP. Broke this rod in the same spot as the All Star, just past the first eye. G Loomis seems a little over rated to me."

Response To Broken Rod Review,November 5, 2006
By realestateguru
"GLX Rods are simply the best in class! If your rod broke sir, pay your $50 expidite fee and they will send you a new one....NEXT DAY! Who else does that? I assure you you damaged your rod in order for it to break. I have caught spotted bass up to 6lbs and largemouth bass up to 9lbs on these rods."

This Rod is Terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,October 16, 2006
By ProFishermanfrom Chattooga, Georgia
"This is probably the worst rod that i have ever fished with. It broke after the second fish i caught that only weighed 2 lbs. You should never buy this rod. Don't even consider it. Trust me i have been fishing all my life for 54 years and i have never seen a rod as terrible as this."
