Performance bass rods so light, you can fish sunup to sundown - and you probably won't even remember holding a rod in your hands. G-Loomis has just pushed the rod building envelope beyond all recognition with this technique-specific series. The revolution begins with top-of-the-line GLX graphite blanks, specially adapted with precise tapers perfectly adapted to your favorite hawg-calling approach and fitted with the unique Recoil® guide system. These are perhaps the lightest, most resilient guides ever made, a hybrid blend of nickel and titanium that keeps the weight down and takes all the worries out of endless casting and retrieving. The ultra-fast actions let the rod load quickly at the tip, so you can pitch or cast on a low trajectory, using very short strokes - for increased accuracy and efficiency. The power zone has been extended toward the tip, giving you the muscle to bring that big bucketmouth to hand. For out-and-out sensitivity, strength and control, it's simply the best there is.Action: M = Medium MH = Medium Heavy H = HeavyXH = Extra Heavy

glx rods,July 21, 2009
By Frank2803from Ottawa on
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money, awsome guides
"Well ive been fishing tournaments for some time and my father made me try a g loomis rod and since then ive bought 1 walleye series rod, 2 gl2, 3 gl3, and 1 glx. all these rods are amazing but the glx is by far my fav. I brought my Grandfather fishing, and at 76 he was a little tipsy in the boat. He stepped on like 3 guides on the glx luckily thoses guides are Titanium they bounced right back SUPER COOL. since then i decided to convert a gl3 to recoil guides. Wether you choose a gl2, gl3 or glx you cant go wrong but the glx is the cadilac."

By sploosh56from Western Basin Lake Erie
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money, fish catching ratio will improve exponentially Disadvantages: you will hate using all other fishing rods
"I remember the first time that I used a GLX I couldn't believe what I was feeling. Until you actually use one of the rods there is no way you can truly understand how incredible these rods are.
I have used these rods for every kind of fishing, from panfish to muskies, and they are perfect.
These GLX series rods are the Ferrari's of fishing rods. Buy one and your fishing success will improve overnight."

By arkiebassmanfrom Glenwood, Arkansas
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design
"These are the best rods hands down. I have always used the the best rod and reel posible. I think these poles have been the biggest move sice shimmano made us a decent reel. The only bad thing is they will make you hate all your old rods. They are super light and sentive."

"I have been bass fishing for 34 years and always bought what i thought were the best on the market. Man was i wrong ! My fishing partner made me use one of his GLX casting rods in a tournament . I felt more fish and did not miss a single one . We won the tournament . Today i own 14 G. Loomis rods and have no regrets that i switched from brand x . They made a believer out of me and they will you too . Just do not wait as long as i did ."

BCR-853 caasting,August 8, 2008
By 250xsfrom TN
"I own two of the BCR-853 and they are hands down the best rod I have ever put in my hands. They are a little step in price but they are with out a doubt worth it. They are light, extremely sensative and cast effortlessly. Dont be fooled by Med. Heavy it has plenty of back bone. I use this rod strictly as a worm rod for night/day fishing."

Great Rods,March 4, 2008
By Ranger66from Lake Texoma
"I own the BCR803, BCR804 and the BCR854. I use the 804 as my main jig rod, the 803 as a Texas rig rod and the 854 as a Carolina rig rod. These rods are very sensitive, especially when match with a Shimano 50 Mg. However, they aren't as light as the MBR series. The BCR's have a higher power (stiffer) when compared to the MBR."

My favorite rod!,January 13, 2008
By NJBassfrom New Jersey
"I have 12 of these rods for a reason. They are absolutely THE lightest and most sensitive rod out there. I have a range of lengths and power ratings to suit me for all my needs (except crankbaiting). And because this rod is so light, it is an absolute MUST if you fish for more than 4 hours, like me. Sometimes I fish for more than 8 hours, so this rod makes it possible to fish that long. Great for kayak and canoe fishing as well. It is expensive, yes, but quality comes at a price, and this piece of graphite is one heck of a quality rod! The only con about this rod is the guides; they are loud, with braid, monofilament, fluorocarbon; any kind of line you choose to use. They are also pretty ugly and not as "sensitive" as "normal" guides. But still, the pros FAR outweight the cons. Definitley get this rod if you have the money. It is probably the most sensitive and lightest rod out there. Reels I use with it include Shimano Curado's, Chronarch MG50s, Cores, a Calais DC, Calcutta B and a Cardiff, also with Team Daiwa Fuego's, Sol's, a Viento, TD-Z's, and 3 Zillions. However, I recommend using a light reel such as a Shimano Core or Shimano Cronarch MG50 to maintain a light weight and good balance. Good luck."

Great rod,November 29, 2007
By Wackem
"Very light and great feel. If you can do a high dollar rod you better consider these. I will say that Loomis does not back their warranty like they used to."

best rods available,August 4, 2007
By Unimog
"These rods are the absolute best where performance, not cost is a factor. I have the BCR802, BCR852 and BCR 854 and will soon get the BCR803 and BCR853 because I am so impressed. I like the castability of the 7'1" a little better than the 6'8" so the 852 is my most used. I tend to fish 7" worms on the mediums and save the heavy for 10" worms and 14lb line."

Fishing Nirvana,September 15, 2006
By Angler1from Indiana
"This rod is amazing. It's so sensitive. I can feel every rock, stump and anyother structure. I have reached the point with this rod, I can sense what I type of structure the lure is bouncing off of or if my lure is not functioning properly. But when a fish nibbles or bites, you know it. It is so powerful, that hook sets are breeze.
I would highly recommend this rod. It has increased my fishing enjoyment ten fold."

"Easily the most sensitive rod I've ever used in this size range. Used mine for two years and it's becoming my go-to rod. While I don't like the looks of the Recoil guides they work nicely, very well thought out design."
