"if u do not have a hook keeper on your rod this is one of the better ones. I get about a year out of them before the o-ring breaks. Have been slowly adding permanent keepers to my rods so in the near future i wont need these."

"Been using for a little bit now and haven't found any major issues. Holds my hooks right were i want them. When using a treble hook i have found that two barbs stand out a bit, the solution i have found is using cork broken into bits will keep the hooks from stabbing your hands/arms."

"I have these on 5 of my rods, both baitcasting and spinning. I love the color selection as well. If your rods don't have a hook keeper, these will do the JOB. Easy to install as well. Start them on the skinnier part of the rod and then work them down toward the lower end."

"This hook keeper is great. I have these on all my rods. They really save your guides and they are really strong. They flip down when your not using it which is a really nice feature. They are kinda hard to get on at first if you put it on the thick part of your rod but once you get it on it is really strong and stable. And you can move them up and down the rod any time you want. This is a great product."

"Works perfectly for its intended use....has two different size "bands" to use it with different size rods. When hooking in it keeps the hook point slighty elevated from the rod so you dont get tons of scratches on the rod finish. And I especially like the fold down feature so when you are fishing it is out of the way."

A Must for BPS rods,November 15, 2007

"I find this accessory a must when purchasing a BPS branded rod as they do not come with their own hook keepers. The nice thing about these is that they can be folded down and can hold a Texas rigged plastic without exposing the hook. The package comes with several different size rubber O rings to accommodate various rod diameters. They can also be moved around to different rods in the future. The only downside being that they tend to slip on the rod when wet. However they do their intended job well and compliment whatever rod they are on nicely."

"This product is great. I do a lot of bottom fishing and when your done fishing for the day with a bottom rig you always have a hook dangling. Not with this, I use it in conjuntion with the hook holder on my rod because you can put this anywhere on the rod. now both hooks have something to be hooked on. If your rod doesn't have a hook holder, just buy the hook holster and you have a place for both hooks on a bottom rig."

"Most good rods have a hook keeper built in, but on most of my rods it's on the wrong side for me. It's more convenient to have it on left side, so put these keepers on all my rods in that position. Also if using a texas rigged bait, you can flip the keeper over the line to hold it in place. Would like it a little wider like the older model. Sometimes, it's hard to find the opening."
