"I was looking for a more versatile, ie. stronger line that still casted well; comparible to trilene XL. After seeing a piece on the Sufix lines with Shaw Grigsby, I decided to give it a shot in 14 lb. on my baitcasters and eventually 4 lb. on my crappie and spinning trout rods. In both cases the line performed exceptionally. I have had great performance fishing crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and jigs in wood and grass for bass with pike mixed in. Memory was non-existent, knot strength was great, and the castability couldn't have been better, great distance without backlashes and handled fish well through coontails, hydrilla and around logs and stumps. It handled light spinnerbaits and crankbaits better than XL in my opinion. I even used it as my main line carolina rigging with a fluorocarbon leader and it had great sensitivity; I knew where and what my sinker/lizard was doing the whole time I had it in the water. The 4 lb. casts well and has held up to some good trout in heavy current and crappies in stumps, have yet to hook up to a larger fish with the 4 lb. test, but I assume it would handle anything you can play out in open water."

Great spinning line,August 9, 2009

"Used on my okuma lite reel and it works great. Doesn't get as many knots as trilene and it's easier to cast light lures."

I got 4 for the price of 3,July 5, 2009
By FISHUNT7from BAMA
Advantages: Ease of use Disadvantages: Performance
"This line has some good qualities but the one that I cannot get over is how much it stretches. I got hung on a stump off my pier and I could not break the line because it stretched so much. I have got hung on the same stump a few times and have had to break the line. When I hot hung up using this stuff, I walked all the way to the other side of my pier and it never broke I walked back and got a better grip and walked back to the other side of the pier. It took all I could do the reach out as far as I could to reel up slack and walk 10 foot back to get it to break. This line would be great for crankbait fishing I guess but I will not use it for anything else anymore."

"I've used all kinds of different line brands through the years, but last year I tried this out and haven't looked back. There is basically no memory at all, its real tough, and is altogether just a better line than the competitors. Definitely worth a try, you won't be disappointed."

WOW!,April 29, 2009
By Knucklesfrom Eugene, Oregon
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money Disadvantages: i didn't try it sooner...
"I was throwing a kokanee jig and hooked up to a submerged piece of structure. At fifty feet deep directly under my boat I had little else to do but try to pull it free or cut it. I started pulling.
My 6 lb Sufix Elite (camo) line STRAIGHTENED a #2 galvanized treble hook. I recovered my jig and went to work with a set of pliers and the jig is as good as new.
I KNOW I was putting more than six pounds of pressure on that rig and everything held strong. Unbelievable performance and I am now in the process of switching out all of my mono rigs with this line.
It also casts incredibly well. The winding gimmick WORKS! It comes off of the spool like butter and is truly amazing to throw. Try it out!"

seige is better,March 4, 2009
By blind7740from Fayetteville, NC
"This is good line...it cast well, has low memory, and is strong. The only problem is that it doesn't seem to have much abrasive resistance compared to Seige. So I recommend getting Seige because it has all the afore mentioned qualities plus is more abrasion resistant."

My Favorite Line,February 24, 2009
By houstonfishermanfrom Houston, TX
"Sufix Elite is my absolute favorite line. It really is smooth, strong, abrasion resitant, castible, and much much more. I use it on every reel that i use mono on. From 17 or 20 for heavy cover bass and reds to 4 or 6 for panfish and finess bass fishing. It is absolutly amazing!"

BAD MEMORY,January 12, 2009
By luvtofishfrom East Washington (the state)
"The line has super bad memory!!! It would tangle around my reel and make it so I could not fish with the combo. But the line is super strong, has low vis, and makes reel good leader. I will not get the line again unless it is for leader."

Best Mono on the market,December 26, 2008
By cc22from Indianapolis, In
"I fish local bass club tournaments and opens, I also fish in northern Minnesota for Largemouth, Northern and Muskie. I was told by my partner that I should give Sufix a shot this year, so I figured what can it hurt. I have tried and loved original clear blue stren and clear blue ez cast spiderwire mono. After these two it was going to be hard to get me to switch to anything else. I spooled 12# clear Sufix Elite on my Shimano Chronarch and casted a practice lure in my yard to see how it was going to work. I was shocked by how smooth and far it casted. Then I purposely got it hung in a tree to see how strong it was, once again I was pleasantly surprised. I fished with it all year in many different temperatures and conditions, it out performed any line that I have used before. I used 20# Sufix Elite clear in Minnesota, where the water is super clear and full of weeds, lilypads, rocks, timber, and docks. I caught more fish this year than I ever had up there and I have been going there for 23 years now. Great Line!!!! I can't wait to try the new Sufix Flourocarbon."

"I heard that this was great line. It's is not. I bought a spool and tried to get it on my reel. So much memory that I couldn't even use it. In my opinion this the worst line i've ever "tried" to use. Save your money, and stick to XL"

Beginner's Luck?,September 4, 2008
By Crimedawgfrom Olathe, KS
"I got back into fishing after 20 years - reels and line have changed significantly. Purchased a Revo Premier and asked BPS employee what he recommended. He took me right to Sufix Elite. Spooled up my Revo with KVD line conditioner and only got 1 bird's next in my first 50 or so casts. I'm still rusty, so I'm going to have to give credit to the Revo, Sufix, and KVD products. Thanks BPS!"

Mono Line that resembles Fluoro,August 13, 2008

Monster Red on a 12lbs line - no leader in North Florida Aug 2008
"Suffix was reccommend to me for some deep see fishing fun dolphin, tuna, etc. I figured why not try a smaller size line for some inshore as well. I just bought the Suffix Elite 12lb line for my inshore fishing. On my first day with this new line I caught me a Monster Bull Red Fish weighing 28.5lbs at appx 43" - WITH NO LEADER!!! I WAS a die hard Momoi/Trilene fan until last Sat. I have now been converted. Suffix casted smoother and was far stronger in comparison to the same lbs line."
