Sufix Elite is Elite,
June 18, 2007
By fish'n'golf
"I was looking for a more versatile, ie. stronger line that still casted well; comparible to trilene XL. After seeing a piece on the Sufix lines with Shaw Grigsby, I decided to give it a shot in 14 lb. on my baitcasters and eventually 4 lb. on my crappie and spinning trout rods. In both cases the line performed exceptionally. I have had great performance fishing crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and jigs in wood and grass for bass with pike mixed in. Memory was non-existent, knot strength was great, and the castability couldn't have been better, great distance without backlashes and handled fish well through coontails, hydrilla and around logs and stumps. It handled light spinnerbaits and crankbaits better than XL in my opinion. I even used it as my main line carolina rigging with a fluorocarbon leader and it had great sensitivity; I knew where and what my sinker/lizard was doing the whole time I had it in the water. The 4 lb. casts well and has held up to some good trout in heavy current and crappies in stumps, have yet to hook up to a larger fish with the 4 lb. test, but I assume it would handle anything you can play out in open water."

"This line by far is my all-time favorite. It surpasses any other mono I've fished. Near zero memory and extremely strong! Its very easy to tie "neat" knots with no slip. I recommend this line before any other!"

"I have tried a lot of different lines, and this is probably in the top 10.It is a very strong and durable line, the only problem is that it has a little to much memory, other than that it is a good fishing line."

WOW,
April 15, 2008
By Juggalotusxfrom Sioux Falls, SD
"All I got to say is this stuff is great, Its really strong, I have 8 pound on and its stronger then trilene xt 10 pound and works alot better. I have had no backlashes, breaks or memory problems with this line and Ive used it 2 years in a row so far, I had trilene xt on at the begining of the year and already went back to Suffix elite. Its some of the best line I have ever Fished with other than Fireline but who wants to pay 14 bucks for 125 yards not me any more, Im only 24 but Ive been fishing since I was 9 and this stuff rocks..."

ok product,
April 13, 2008
By BrooklynBoyfrom Brooklyn, N.Y.
"maybe its just me, but this line seemed to be VERY thick. The diameter of 10 # test was greater than any other mono line I've ever used. It perfoms well for topwater lures, but then again, thats what I bought it for. I've used it for a short amount of time, so I'm not sure of its wearability, but I can say that it holds a knot quite well and is pretty durable. Again, the only complaint I have (so far) is that the diameter to test is out of whack."

Great On Baitcasters,

"I decided to give Suffix a try and it worked excellent on my baitcasters. It held knots well and had very good sensitivity. It cast spinnerbaits, jigs, and crankbaits very well with excellent abrasion resistance in the heavy cover areas. I was impressed so I spooled up my drop shot pole and had the same great results with just a little bit of line memory problems if you overspool spinning gear, lesson learned and it works great and is a line I can depend on while fishing."

PAPER WEIGHT,
April 1, 2008
By TEAMLEADERfrom REELFOOT LAKE TENNESSEE
"I BOUGHT A SPOOL OF THIS LINE AT A LOCAL BAIT SHOP AND WAS AMAZED AT HOW POORLY IT PERFORMED. AFTER A FEW TRIPS THE LINE BECOMES STAINED AND VERY STIFF. FISHING IT ON A SPINNG RIG IS A COMP[LETE NIGHTMARE AND THE WIEGHT TO LINE DIAMETER RATIO IS RIDICULOUS."

I caught a trophy on this line,
March 29, 2008
By CTAngler
"I wanted a replacement for Stren so I bought the sufix elite in 6 lb test for my trout fishing reels. The clear line disappears under water just like fluorocarbon.
Last summer I was fishing the Farmington River for rainbows and I hooked into a 7lb 3 oz. native beauty. The 6 lb test held up like a dream through the 20 minute fight on my UL set-up. Ever since that moment I have only used sufix elite on all my trout reels!"

Suffix Products Are top-Notch,
March 15, 2008
By ohiobigbasserfrom Ohio
"I have been using 10 and 12 # test Sufix Elite for the past three seasons, mainly for crankbaits. This is one product that actually lives up to it's claims. It's extremely stout for a "thin diameter" line, but at the same time it has low memory. It really can add a few feet to the cast. Ties beautifully with solid knot strength. It really handles well. This season I'm switching from another brand to 8 # Elite for my spinning tackle, also. Good fishing !"

Good but not the best,
March 11, 2008
By Nathanaelfrom Indiana
"This line is good and I may have given it 5 stars, but P-Line fluoclear is better. It was strong and pretty invisible in water, but it made big coils coming off the spool. It made the casting not as good. I am going to try Yo-Zuri as well and see how I like that. Also another annoying thing is the size of the spool, it is twice as big as a standard spool but holds about the same amount of line, I do not get it."

Decent line,
March 11, 2008
By Piscator94from Greensboro, NC
"This line is great for drop-shotting. I know people say that you have to use fluorocarbon but come on, do you really have to feel every single tick when you're drop-shotting? I know sometimes it feels more reassuring to feel every tick but when you're drop-shotting, it is just going to be a pressure bite. But either way, Sufix is a somewhat great mono line. It does sometimes have a tendency to jump off of the reel but rarely do you end up with a huge mess."

GoodReviewer,
March 4, 2008

"This line in six pound form works better than stren fluorocarbon and berkley fireline. It is great at casting. The down side is that it isnt very abrasion resistant so after a few catches you have to cut the worn line and retie the knot."

"This line has 2 problems. First problem, P-Line CX. Second problem, Ande Backcountry. What I am saying is those other 2 lines are just all around better if you are a coastal fisherman like me. P-Line is stronger and the Ande is more sensitive, which means Sufix Elite falls in the middle. Knot strength is good, but don't let the temps fall in the upper 40's or below it may cause a very weak line. Casts fairly well, not as well as the P-line but very well indeed. I personally, do not like this line on baitcasters because of it's mild memory that does develope but that can be fixed by using a hairdryer. Now as far as fishing in freshwater, I don't know how this line performs but most of the boys here on the TX coast either use P-Line or Ande because of what I stated earlier. ** Sufix's wind on process, or spooling IS an excellent idea and really does work. which is great if you toss lures with a spinning reel. So my general opinion is Sufix is better than the majority but falls a little shore compared to offerings of Ande and P-Line. Remember to use KVD Ling Conditioner if you haven't tried it already! Also, if you have tried to other lines and do not agree with me try McCoy fishing line just as an alternative."

BEST MONO I EVER USED,
February 7, 2008
By BUZZURD
"I FISH A LOT AND I USE ULTRA-LITE SPIN TACKLE AND GO AFTER NOTHING BUT TROUT.I AM TIRED OF WASTING MONEY ON ALL THIS HYPED UP LINE THAT DOES NOTHING BUT DRIVE YOU NUTS AND TIE ITSELF IN LOOPS AND WIND KNOTS NOT TO MENTION BREAK OFF IN YOUR HANDS WHILE YOU TRY TO PULL OUT A KNOT. SOUND FAMILIAR? I FIND THIS LINE TO BE TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND A PLEASURE TO FISH WITH. IT HAS NO MEMORY, NO LOOPS AND DOES NOT TIE ITSELF INTO A BIRD NEST. IT IS STRONGER THAN I CAN IMAGINE AS I USE 4# TEST AND IT DOESN'T LIKE TO BREAK OFF AT ALL, EVEN ON A BAD SNAG. I HAVE ACTUALLY STRAIGHTENED OUT A HOOK WHILE PULLING OFF A PIECE OF BARK YANKING MY SPINNER OUT OF A TREE. THIS LINE IS WONDERFUL AND GETS YOU BACK TO FISHING AND NOT HAVING TO WATCH YOUR REEL AFTER EVERY CAST AND BELIEVE ME, I DO A LOT OF CASTING IN SEVERAL HOURS. GIVE IT A TRY; YOU WILL REALLY LIKE IT."
