Amazing Performance, great price, but...,November 18, 2009
By WindCasterfrom Roswell, GA
Advantages: Performs well, Quality, Value for money, high end performance at a third of the price, lifetime no-fault warranty Disadvantages: overall lack of feedback, heavier than other (more expensive) rods
"Purchased a 5wt 9' as an upgrade to my white river beginners kit. I was looking for a fast rod with long casting distances and a more direct feel than the medium weight white river I've been casting with all summer. The TiCR proved itself to be a fantastic performer. When loaded correctly, long distances can be covered with laser type accuracy while still giving a nice presentation. Thing is, the rod gave little to no feedback. It felt numb and took something away from the whole fly fishing experience. Based on further research and in store rod feel I went with the slightly more expensive TiCR X in the same length and weight. The extra $30 gets you 95% of the TICR's casting performance with plenty of communication from the rod. What an amazing casting tool its turned out to be. I would highly recommend the upgraded X to the TiCR. You get so much better of a casting experience for not much more money."

Awesome!,June 19, 2009

"Even though I don't own this rod, I love it! I ask my friend who works Bass Pro to set it up for me every time I go there for the fly casting class on the weekend. The TiCr is light. I can double haul and cast a mile. I want a 7wt for bass fishing and some saltwater fishing at the beach. I'll match it up with a Hobbs Creek large arbor reel and some Hobbs Creek line or cheap saltwater line. This is the best fly rod ever. And at a great price."

Fast and durable,January 1, 2009

"This is one of my favorite rods. It has a very fast action and can cast a mile. I am not a huge fan of most fast rods as they tend to be very fragile- accidentally nail a pair of lead eyes on a backcast and most fast rods have a weak spot. This rod appears to have extra protection built in for that sudden gust of wind."

Great Bass Rod...High Value Product,April 8, 2008
By Flyfisher87from Charlotte, NC
"I bought the 7 weight last summer to use for bass fishing and light saltwater thinking it would be a good backup rod. I pulled it out one evening on a bass pond and I was amazed at how well it cast. It wasn't too heavy, it was pretty sensitive and I could easily get my 70 - 80 foot casts with minimal effort. I was amazed at how well the rod did the work for me (for a product in this price range). It performed extremely well and was a pleasure to fish. It isn't the same quality as a high-end Sage, Orvis or G-Loomis; but is less than 1/3 their price and it performs very well. I plan to purchase another in a 9 weight to use strictly for occassional saltwater trips."
