"If you don't catch fish on anything else, you will with a Horny Toad. They are KILLER!! I do best with Green Pumpkin shades and Watermellon shades, White and Black. Great topwater action. Stick/insert type weights work well in heavy cover and deeper fishing. You can drag these bad boys through just about anything. and rattles make them especially tempting. #4 or #5 wide gap hooks work best giving a nearly automatic hook set. Hold on tight, fish whack it hard."

"Don't get me wrong, these frogs can catch bass, but the design is rather poor. The body is rather bulky and thick, making this bait easy to turn on its belly. Compared to other frogs, the legs are very small and give out a rather weak action.
I would take Stanley Ribbit Frogs or Rage Tails over these any day."

"The Zoom H Toad is by far the best toad I have used so far. It produces so many thunderous bites. Bass have come completely out of the water to attack this toad. I also fish it in the open water weightless. It has great action, when lightly twitched it looks just like a real toad. Now I still use all sorts of toads, but this is my go to toad and overall my go to plastic. It only lasts 6-7 fish but that itself is not very bad at all the Rage Tail Toads last about 2-4 fish before you have to junk it."

"This is the only zoom bait that i have ever been dissapointed in. I dont no what all these people who gave the bait 5 stars are doing different than me. When i first bought it the action wasnt all that great and it landed upside down over half the time so i figured i would try them with the hooks made espesially for them. The hooks didnt help at all. The feet are so small that they make no action when reeled over slop. They have decent action in open water but once again the legs are so small you have to reel it in extremely fast. Despite all of that i have gotten a few fish and i do like the type of plastic i just dont think the legs are big enough. I will try the ribbit frogs next."

"The Zoom Toad produces bottom line. Fish it slow/fast/jerky you name it all will produce on any given day. I've used this product by just tossing it on the bank and as soon as it hit the water, fish on. Now don't get me wrong fish will miss it they will destroy it they will not always get a hook set. That's just fishing not the bait. I love when the fish hit just as it touches the water."

"i am 13 and didn't know how to work this lure. i had some trouble with it and BAM! after a while, i had a nice 2 1/2 lb largemouth. i worked my way around the lake and had a feeling for how it was supposed to be fished. a few min. later and BAM! another huge fish in a pond that is known to have mostly small bass. this bass was a nice 4 1/2 18in. bass. im very pleased with the results of this lure."

"I've used this bait in a number of situations now and on several different bodies of water, spring, summer and fall in Florida and, overall, I'm not impressed. I've caught fish on it but the legs don't always work on every bait, meaning you get to use only part of each bag you buy (but you can't tell beforehand which will work and which won't). Also, to make the legs kick like a frog, you have to retrieve the bait much too fast and can't fish it slow enough in a lot of cover. Overall, I would say its adequate but not a truly good bait."

"For a soft frog, i have yet to see a better bait as far as one that works all around. The only problem is that these frogs only last about 6 or 7 catches before they fall apart. I got them on sale, and at $3.19 a pack, they are well worth it. I probably wouldn't buy them full price, but Zoom definitely put out another great lure."

"this is by far my favorite softbait frog so far. This thing can be buzzed across the top, fished underwater, and worked slow over weed beds. I like to fish this thing slow over weeds with the rod tip up. this results in big explosions and less missed strikes. These things are awesome. White ones are killer right now on the Ca, Delta"

"This is the only ZOOM product I've ever used that I just can't recommend. The ultra-vibe feet on the H.Toad just don't really work as a surface lure, and it's not very buoyant, either. You have to fish it pretty fast to keep it on top, and the small feet don't make very much commotion at all. The color selection is excellent, far better than most of other soft plastic frogs, but that's not enough to make this a go-to slop bomber. Try a Ribbit or a Buzzfrog."

"I can honestly say that the ZOOM "H" Toad catches largemouth bass…Big Bass! You can fish it fast on top to mimic a fleeing frog for aggressive surface strikes or fish it below the surface with a slight pop to mimic a natural swimming frog for suspended fish. Fish it with the ZOOM "H" Toad Hooks for the best action and longer lure life. Use the 4/0 hook if you want to keep the lure on top and the 5/0 hook for longer casts and sub-surface fishing. Make sure you tune the lure by turning the screw lock on the hook so that the frog runs naturally – bottom down. You can catch about 3 to 4 fish on one lure before having to change it out for a new one. Even with one leg left on the lure after some intense catches and strikes – it still catches fish! Next I’m going to take the ZOOM "H" Toad to the mangroves for for Snook, Tarpon and Redfish... Great Lure!"

Hype...Don't believe it!,April 15, 2009

"People raved about this Frog so I bought it. I found the action of the legs lacking. It is not the most bouyant bait and requires some speed to keep it up. I did catch fish with it but this Toad is not DEADLY enough. I have recently replaced this with the Stanley Floating Ribbit which you can dead stick and work slower."
