Not for oyster rakes in the mud on the coast!,October 14, 2009
By Willdfrom Isle of Palms, SC
Advantages: Comfortable, Style/Design, Value for money Disadvantages: Quality
"New pair lasted 2 times out wading in the inlets on oyster rakes. They are fine except for the shells cutting the neoprene. Mine were cut at the ankle under the zipper. The next time i zipped them up it ripped the neoprene. They are probably fine in lakes and steams but not in saltwater settings on oyster rakes..."

quality boot but runs large,September 5, 2009
By flyfishscfrom SC Lowcountry
Advantages: Quality, Style/Design, Value for money Disadvantages: Fit/Size
"Well made flats boot that looks good when wet wading the salt. Comfortable and durable with all the features of flats boots costing much more but they run a size large. I wear a size 10 and wished I would have ordered a size nine. Not quite big enough to come off if stuck in the mud, but close. Also the ankle could be a little tighter; it will let some muck in if you stir enough up. Would buy again just because of the price, but one size smaller."

very disappointed,August 2, 2009
By cajunflycaster
Disadvantages: Fit/Size, Quality, Uncomfortable
"I do a lot of wet wading in sandy bottom creeks while fly fishing and I bought these boots to keep the sand off of my feet. The theory is great but the design on this particular boot is poor. The velcro straps are too long to cinch the boot up tight around my calf...and while wading upstream the force of the moving water is enough to unstrap the velcro straps. so without the ability to cinch them up tight, the sediment stirred up from wading settles in the boot and creates only a slightly better solution that my previous way of wearing old tennis shoes...they also run large...I wear a size 11 in every other shoe or boot I wear and so ordered a size 11 in these, they are too big...I think a 10 would have fit better...I will be doing my own modifications to make these boots work until they wear out since I've already bought them and worn them but I will be trying a different style for the next pair.."

Great in sand,May 13, 2009
By fourwheelingfrom natchez ms
Advantages: Comfortable, Value for money Disadvantages: Appearance
"I do a lot of river atv riding, and these are ideal for sandy shores and beaches. They are light as a pair of socks. Sand and pebbles do not get under your foot, as with sandles or flip flops. They are not made to be a boot. But for use on shorelines and shallow wading, they are perfect."

Good Buy,March 11, 2009
By ratherbefishinfrom tampa bay
"I have two pair, one that fits and one two sizes larger to fit over my stockingfoot waders. I have used these for years and as long as they are thoroughly rinsed out with fresh water, they last me about three years fishing out of a kayak in saltwater and wading. For the price they are a great value."

"A good, no, great product for the price. I use these with my stockingfoot waders and they are just the ticket. I have two pair, the first is a couple of years old and are still in good shape. The second pair I bought a couple of sizes larger to try and accomodate a pair of waders with neoprene booties. No luck. If they could make these in an extra wide width that would be the only improvement I could think of. Otherwise, again for the money, they suit my purposes to a "T"."

best shoe for wading Missouri streams,July 17, 2008
By bmurrayfrom Festus, MO
"My fishing buddies and I have used these for wading in the gravel bottom streams of MO. They have been our best investment in tackle that we have purchased. They keep out ALL of the rocks and sand. I have black, but would recommend the tan due to the black gets hot unless your in the water."

"I love them. I tried several other boots but coudn't keep them on my feet at one particularly muddy spot. the first time I put these on I was able to make the distance without falling down. waded 9 hrs without any real foot discomfort. they stayed on the whole way back thru the low tide muck. the strap on the top really does the job keeping them on. they offer enough sensetivity to be able to tell what kind of ground is under your feet. soft sand or a little crunch of grass to the solid oyster beds. when i wear them out i will go get another pair. certainly worth the price. also came in a redhead box."

Great Use For Fin Users,March 18, 2008
By Ghostfrom Indiana
"I use a pontoon/kick boat for fishing.
Instead of using my fins w/o any ankle protection & getting torn up from the fins, I use the WWS Flats Boots.
These run really big, I normally wear size 10.5 in mens shoes, but I had to drop down to a size 9 for a better fit.
I can put on the flats boots by my SUV & walk in them carrying all my equipment, the soles protect your feet better than sandals would. And since your feet are totally covered, you don't have to worry about your feet getting torn up walking through bushes to get to the waters edge.
The back end of the flats boots has a rubber tab so the fins you use will stay up & not slip down. I don't worry about losing my fins since the flats boots give a good fit. Also I feel my feet are protected when I do have to put my feet down in the water, I don't feel that I will get hurt on sharp rocks, shells or hooks or broken bottles in the water. This is one less thing I have to worry while fishing.
The bottom of the flats boots gives you some traction if you have to walk on wet or muddy grounds.
The velcro strap is helpful that I can cinch the flats boots firmly on my ankle area. I've used them for a season & they are holding tough. If & when I do need to replace the boots I will be buying another pair cuz they are that good & cheap price.
You don't need expensive name brand flats boots for float tube or pontoon/kick boat fishing, this will fill the bill."

You get what you pay for,February 5, 2008
By bo444444from Tampa
"The only think I can say is that they fit lengthwise. The width was very large (and I even tried them on with socks when they arrived). And the ankle strap would not even come close to snug around my ankle, even if I cranked it as tight as I could get it. I imagine the first time I stepped in water, they would fill and I would be floating in my shoes. I couldn't imagine keeping any muck or sand out. FYI I have a brand new pair of size 10 wader boots for sale if anyone is interested.
This was my first BPS brand item purchase and I have to say I am not thinking of buying another store brand."

Okay for flatwater but no rocks.,January 9, 2007
By arthy77from West Conshohocken, PA
"I tried to use these shoes in the river, but the rocks chew em up. They feel awkward new, and offer little ankle support.. The foot protection is thin, and i can feel all the slimy rocks thru the soles. Traction on rocks is nill. They work better in sand, muck and mud: they dont slip off. Think aqua socks for grown ups. Im going with real wading boots. Im a big man and cant afford to twist an ankle with these."

good but,November 24, 2006
By Pinfishfrom San Francisco, CA
"This is good for the sand and flats. Sand did not get in for the most part. The sole is a little too thin for rock hopping and protection as I can feel the ground and I don't want to test the traction on wet rocks. But on the other hand, the neoprene keeps my feet warm in the cold water. ~50°F
Two problems I noticed so far. First, if sand gets into the zipper, it will lock up. And the zipper is metal so I am not sure when or if it will rust. Second, my feet are a size 10.5. I go barefoot into my Hodgman Wadelites with booties and this boot (size 12) just barely fits. So for my case, I could have ordered a size 13 and I'll be able to use this as flippers!
Good value for the price though."

The best flats boot ever!!!!,June 9, 2006
By Surf Bumfrom NJ - VA
"I have tried many products I had surgery on my foot 5 years ago and I have problems with the nerve endings in my foot. I cannot walk on beaches or sand without great discomfort. I fish along the atlantic from NJ - VA. I have used everything from reef runner to sandals. When surffising my big complaint is sand in the shoe. Well to my delight this boot was and is sand free even when fishing in the most agitated surf. Buy it - this is the best $19.95 I have ever spent"
