"A tennis pro in florida showed me this line over 3 years ago. He used it to fish in golf course ponds for largemouth bass. Over a year or two he landed many double digit bass, one of them reaching 17 lbs!!! I started using power pro immideatly after he introduced me to this line. I splooled the 30 lb braid on a meduim sized spinning reel (Abu Garcia Cardinal, holding 210 yards of 10lb test) and caught many bass. That same spool of line is on that reel to this day. The reel and line has been through three different rods that have broken due to constant use. The line and reel have caught Both smallmouth and largemouth bass, bream, catfish, pompano, snapper, ladyfish, hardtails, pinfish, spanish mackerel, bluefish, and KING MACKEREL.
The things i love most about power pro is that it has zero spool memory, very abrasion resistant, very limp and doesnt twist and kink up like monofilament, and the diameter is so thin that i can catch 20 lb pelagic gamefish on tackle that is made to be fished with for bass up to around 5 or 6 lbs. And not to mention that ive been using the same spool of line for three years.
Power Pro has its place in fishing but monofilament is still better for some types of fishing. braided line has little to no stretch at all, while mono stretches to give you and the fish alittle bit more comfort. Monofilament line is better for jumping fish and fish with soft mouths. The reason being is that when a fish jumps (Bass, Lady fish, Tarpon, etc.) the line will stretch alittle giving the fish more comfort. Fish with soft mouths (many types of mackerel) will shake thier heads and the hook wont pull do to line stretch.
Power Pro has its advantages and disadvantages. Some things about it are good for some fish but bad for others. Another thing i like about braid is that due to its near zero stretch, you can have more control over your lure in deeper water, plus its way more sensitive. Braid lets you rip a jig through the water exactly how fast and how far you want it to go. Mono will stretch and not move the jig as much as you think your moving it. Power Pro is the only braid i've ever used. I like braid because it lets you muscle a fish up and lets your casts fly much farther due to its thin diameter But mono still has its place in me.
If your mind is set on using braid for a certain type of fishing i definatley recommend Power Pro, for the reason that it last so long. It might be a few more bucks than other braids but it will pay for itself when you dont have to respool at the end of the year.
Think about another thing. There are many companys that make all different types of fishing line such as monofilament, flourocarbon, and braid, but Power Pro makes only braid. Wouldnt you trust a company that puts all thier time into one type of line rather than producing all other sorts of line. They definalty are making the best braided line on the market today."
