"I was flippin'/pitchin' heavy lili pad fields here in FL and had one of these tied on with some BPS XPS fluorocarbon. I was able to pull a 9lb Large Mouth bass out of that cover without the hook straightening out at all! Sharpest, strongest hooks hands down!"

"I use this hook exclusively now when ever i am flipping creature baits, tubes, or craws on braided line. I use the 65lbs. braid when flippin' & pitchin' so i need a hook that stand up to bone crunching hook sets with this line, and this Gammy has me more than impressed! The fact that this hook comes in the color red is just an added bonus on top of all the quality reasons why you should fish with this hook! Get a pack and try them, they are great for the price, and you will love them, Cheers!"

"I use these hooks for fishing all my saltwater jerkbaits and soft plastics. These hooks are the same Gamakatsu quality and sharpness that I trust in with their other hooks. They are easy to rig with, and the red hooks cause reaction strikes from the fish. They are super thick wire, so even the smaller sizes can handle large fish without bending at all."

"These are great if you have finicky bass, the color change can help with your presentation, it also gives your soft plastic that "bleeding" appearance. I agree with what another reviewer said about the bend not getting caught up in weeds. I noticed that myself as well. A good product."

"I've bought these hooks for several years now and they have been just grate. They stay sharp and keep their strenght. Only one thing that I don't like is that after 20 fish or so the red paint started to ware off. Good hooks for the price and i'll keep on using them for years to come."

"Gamakatsu is renowned for their sharp points. But the best aspect of this worm hook design is the bend near the eye. This shape is enough to keep the bait on the hook but it's not a sharp bend so it doesn't catch on the weeds like other similar hooks. This is the hook to buy for the best weedless presentation."

"I use this hook on heavy mono and braided lines for flipping in to the lilly pads and into brush and kind of thick cover. For a pole I use a heavy actiom Woo Daves model (only $160.00). These hooks do not bend when setting the hook with 65 pound spider wire stealth($15.00).Rhese hooks are the best . Try them you wont be disapointed!"

"I use the 5/0 hooks for toads or flapn' shad. In Florida they are thrown through some heavy cover and keep the fish buttoned up after the hook-set. The hooks have yet to get straightened out or loose the edge during a day of fishing."

Best hook for carolina/texas rigging!,September 27, 2006

"I've tried them all for carolina/texas rigging and nothing beats these hooks. The Mustad Mega-Bite hooks are really great but the wire on them is very thick and they Mega-lite hooks were only marginally thinner. These are very thin and shoot right out of the worm when required. I started using these because I was sick of the mustads staying in the worm on hooksets and these took care of that problem. I still use the Mega-bite hooks but mostly only in the bigger sizes where I know I'll need a thick hook (5/0 and higher). For everythign else I use these. Also the design of this hook allows you to run the point all the way out of the work/craw and it will sit right on top of the body without hanging up. I even really like that for throwing soft jerks like the bass assassin."
