Surf combo,July 14, 2007
By NJBASS
"Rod is great. I purchased the 10' and its perfect for throwing clams and bunker heads for stripers. Too heavy to plug with but this rod can handle big weights and big baits.
The reel is another story. Its casts a mile and is smooth, however the front will corrode no matter what. I wash my rod and reel down after every trip and the front continues to corrode from the salt. The drag is fine but the body of the reel feels weak at time with big fish on, had a monster bass on and I thought the plastic handle might snap.
Overall its not a bad reel. The rod it self is worth the $120 and with the combo price your pratically getting the reel for free anyway."
