"Especially if you fish hydrilla, you should consider a flasher instead of a graph. A graph will show you where the grass is, but a quality flasher will show you what's below the grass. That's why I added one of these LCF-1440's to the front of my Ranger bass boat. It definitely takes some practice, but I've learned to read this unit and discern the bottom type under the grass mats, and also whether or not there are fish holding under the mats. Performance has been flawless and installation was a snap since I already had an opening sized for a Lowrance 1230 unit."
