Awesome,March 24, 2008
By Pezmanfrom Illinois
"I bought the 24"-31" pedastal for the bow of my boat. I attached a wise seat to it so I was able to lean against it if I didn't want to sit. I am about 5'11", 190lbs and the tallest pedastal works awesome. It gets me off the ground to better use my trolling motor, and extends high enough to lean against if I want. If you are only going to use this seat to sit on a traditional style seat with a back, I would suggest the smaller version. I have had no problem getting the post out. Be sure to clean out your taper lock plate and post before you insert the pole, and it should come out perfectly."

A Good Pedestal,September 13, 2007

"Like Bass101, I really like this pedestal. Bass Pro didn't give me any hassle when I bought the taller pedestal only to realize you must be about 6'4" or higher to make it comfortable. Those tall ones really get up there ;-). They let me swap them for the shortest pedestal, which can still raise up to make a 6'6" person comfortable (I'm only 6'3"). So you very tall guys and gals, BP, has the pedestal for you.
I weigh 289lbs and yes, the pedestal is hard to get out of the base, but like Bass101, I just grab the seat with both hands, push against the wedge release with my foot and rock the seat while pulling up and it'll come loose every time. That's why I like it, its very solid and it won't in my opinion break like two previous pin pedestals I had before (which I didn't buy from Bass Pro - years ago)."

power pedestal,November 20, 2006

"A little pricey, but a good solid pedestal that should last a long time. Pedestal does fit tightly in socket, which lends toward the solidness. Best way to remove from socket is to stand on the side of the pedestal socket with the release latch. Grasp seat with both hands and pull straight up while pushing the release tab in with toe of your shoe."
