Keeps rods scratch free,July 14, 2009

"If you use your rod guides to hold hooks you will eventually damage the guides. If you use the lure/hook hangers that are at the base of some rods the hooks will eventually scratch your rod. I found this out the hard way on a new BPS extreme rod. I will never use a hook hanger again. Instead I wrap the lure wrap on the blank at the base of the rod about a foot below the guide nearest the reel, place the hook/lure inside the wrap being careful not to let it come in contact with the rod, close/secure the lure wrap and then just reel it up the guide. You now have protection for your rod as well as people and objects. Take a good look at your rod blank near the hook hanger on your expensive rods. If you want to eliminate those ugly scratches use this method."

"I practically live out of my car on long trips and fish every day. These lure wraps allow me to keep lures attached and place the rods in my car for quick, easy fishing. They are also excellent for use on boats. I also have three small kids, so this is one more measure of protection while carrying rods from one fishing hole to another or while sitting in the boat.
The material is extremely thick, and the different sizes available are great, even for my saltwater rods.
I have one for every rod I own!"

"I use these for crankbaits and my drop shot rig. My crankbaits no longer tangle up all my other rods when on the way to the next spot and it keeps my drop shot all nice so I don't have line all over. Great product and it makes fishing easier and allows you to spend more time fishing instead of untangling those treble hooks on your crankbait."

"This gets the job done. It protects my lures and helps me keep it to my rod. The only thing I don't like is that the inside of the vinyl wrap is coated with some kind of plastic/resin, which eventually cracks. Not too much of a big deal, but it makes it less snag resistant to hooks on lures.
Overall, it works and looks nice."

"Have you ever been on someone else's boat and accidentally hooked their one of their seats? That can be very embarrassing, especially because you are stuck on the boat with them and cant run and hide! This is the solution to that problem. "This is a must-have for the non-boater tournament angler. The trick is to use the smallest wrap you can get away with. The larger the wrap, the more likely it will come off. I did hook one boater's seat while using the large wrap, and I didn't have a good answer when he asked, "How did the hooks come out of the lure wrap?" This is why it gets 4 stars instead of 5."

"These are great for protecting you from the hooks on your rod.I use these differently though(unless I have a treble on my rod) as I put lures inside the wraps and they become mini-tackleboxes. They are small and I can usually bring 2-4 lures,although there's room for more.Keeps the hooks from going into my pocket, although the velcro can catch the hooks, but thats minor Good product, definately pick one of these up."
