"I picked up 1 of these on the suggestion of a family member who had one. We shoot archery and do 3d shoots in the spring,summer and fall in densely populated woods normally where the mosquitos are very abundant to say the least. Since i have started using this product, i dont think i have been bitten once. Product is easy to use, no bad odor, nothing to spray on yourself.
It has lasted being tossed into the back of my truck, hit against trees while i am walking and been dropped countless times."

"this is a great product, it works well in low to no wind. and the earth sent is great. its light weight and does not stink. i highly recommend this product. but don't waste your time with it on windy days. if the wind is blowing the mosquito's shouldn't be biting anyways.
the reason i didn't give this 5 stars is that it seemed to get too hot when clipped to my belt as there is a vent on the back of it.
every house hold should have one of these."

"i use the thermacell when i go bowhunting, and could not hunt without it. anyone who complains about the thermacell probably doesnt understand the concept of how it works. if the wind is blowin', or your movin' around, its not really gonna help you. but when your sitting there motionless, and the air is still, your not gonna have a bug on you. "aint no bugs on me!". also, must remember to switch it on, and let it sit for about 8 seconds and it will then light on the first click,"

"AT all ! I just purchased this item for dove hunting down on the river in Laughlin , NV and hooked it onto my vest as instructed. I probably got bitten about 100 times from mosquitoes. "Paired with any scent-killing body wash products I HIGHLY recommend therma cell. Women tend to use flowery/sweet smelling products. Using this product in my backyard I got a few bites but not as bad when I have no protection. But out in the Everglades hunting, I only got 1 bite (because it was a monstrous mutant mosquito-those who live in Miami know what I mean)."

"I live and hunt in Central Florida and hunt on the St. Johns River and sloughs also. Soggy CFL is prime skeeter land for sure. The Thermocell keeps the skeeters away. I initially had concerns about deer smelling the product but I have sat in my treestand with deer feeding for extended times directly underneath me and they never spooked. I don't use it only for hunting. Anything outdoors where flies and skeeters are a problem, I use it. I only wish they would come up with a re-fillable fuel cartridge as the cost of re-fills do add up with regular use. But, the price is worth it when you can hunt without the skeeters bothering you."

"I had been putting off buying a thermacell for a while! Even after reading all the excelent reviews! Then I found the unit on sale, and gave in and bought it! I thought it was going to be an other gimmick, and it was going to wind up in the junk drawer! I went fishing for stripers a few days later, and where I was the bank stops the wind from flowing around you and keeping the bugs away! It was dusk and the bugs were at there worst! I turned the thermacell on, and about 8 minutes later, no more bugs! I was truely suprised, it actualy worked, not so well in a slght breeze, but hey nothigs prfect! Finaly, a product that does what it claims!"

"Bought one last year before bow season opener in GA because the year before I absolutely got eaten up! This device is a must have. It works almost to perfection! The only mistake I made was firing it up after I reached my stand which gave those dang skeeters about 3 or 4 minutes to eat lunch on the back of my neck! This is a must buy for any hunter that hunts in weather warm enough for mosquitos! Buy extra canisters and buy the case so you have a way to mount it to you stand for comfortability."

If you are not using one of these, WHY NOT??????,December 21, 2008

"I like a lot of people thought this was to good to be true. But got a deal on it, so gave it a try. 1st experience was during Spring Turkey Season. Made a believer out of me. Used it all thru archery season, Sept-Mid Nov. I would not go in the woods without one of these now. I used this in my treestand after the bugs started biting. Thought might tough it out, then just got unbearable with the buzzing around my eyes, ears, and nose. Turned the unit on, and began to think it wasn't working. After about 5 minutes, I started noticing that the bugs were starting to be less and less. This unit made my day enjoyable hunting a creekside in 80 degree temps in Ky. ( That is Bug HEAVEN). I thought I detected a faint smell of this thing, but just wasn't sure. 2nd adventure with this was in NorthEast Missouri for mid Oct Bow Season. Again, same scenario played out. And again, I think I noticed a faint smell. This was confirmed when I noticed a buck sniffing the air about 30 yards away. he didn't spook, but he sure kept his nose in the air. I believe he was smelling the unit and not me, as I was in scent lok from head to toe. I turned this thing off while in treestand, just to see if it was really doing the job. Within 2-3 minutes, I was being eaten alive. Quickly turned the unit back on, and used rest of my hunt. Cartridges and pads seem to last longer than they say, but always carry an extra set in pack.Now it says it has a 15 foot diameter. I am not sure about that. I was hunting in a slight wind. Had the unit laying flat on the foot platform and the wind must of been blowing the scent away, cause I did start getting some bugs around head. I picked unit up and tried sitting on my lap, (Not a good idea, this thing will get hot). Ended up tying it to one of the arms of my ladder stand. This year, I will build/modify, so can attach to stand at waist height. My hunting partner was using one like I was, and had the same issues. Small problem, for the benifits this will allow. I do have 2 of these units, and this year I think I will try the scent attractant to see how it works."
