Solid Product,
June 30, 2007
By Jim
from IN
"I have used this cooler to haul frozen fish and moose as airline checked baggage from Alaska to our home in Indiana. I place solidly frozen meat and crumpled newspaper in it (no wet or dry ice) and put a lashing strap around it to keep the cover tight. In three trips to the airport, on the airline, and from the airport to home (typically 18 to 30 hours) everything has always still been solidly frozen. I was afraid to try this with a standard cooler."

Coleman Cooler,

Advantages: Long lasting, Quality, Well made/Durable
"I have several different types of coolers and this one is by far the best. Keeping ice for 5 days might be streching it a bit, but it has kept ice for me in hot weather for up to three days. It helps if you keep the cooler out of sunlight and in the shade. Great cooler and I would buy again."

Awesome Cooler!,

Advantages: Ease of use, Quality, Well made/Durable
"This cooler is the best I have ever owned. We use it camping and on road trips in the conversion van. We fill it up with food and ice and it literally will keep ice for six days with only needing to add some ice here and there in the dead of summer. I used to go through a ton of ice on camping trips and no more. I would highly recommend this cooler to anyone."

Good Buy!,

"I have one of these coolers and they are great. I camp a lot and this cooler works fantastic and is durable. I will tell you though, that it will not hold ice for what they say. The best I have had it do in the summer in 90 degree temps is 3 days and this was with large chunks of ice I made freezing two liter bottles and chunking the ice with a pick. With regular ice you can expect about 2 days in hot weather. It probably is about the best you can get though."

I own 2, because they work,
December 24, 2008

""I have 2 of these and they work. Now with that being said, I don't want to mislead. I have never had one keep ice for 5 days, but when the ice melts, the water is still cold enough to keep a drink cold and enjoyable. I have actually had the ice last 2-3 days, but the water stays cool up to about 5-7 days. I like some of the other people, have used these for transporting frozen meat home from hunting trips. If I am out of state, I will usually have a local processor process the meat, and do a quick freeze on it. When pick it up, in the cooler it goes. No dried ice, no newspaper, not anything, except the frozen meat in vacuum sealed packages. I have had the meat stay completely frozen for about 24-36 hours (depending on outside temps) riding in back of pickup truck. I have not had an issue of the cooler "sweating" and getting the area around it wet. I probably have 7-8 different coolers in the garage in various sizes, and most will probably end up as garage sale items before to long, as the 2 of these I have do what I need.""

Good cooler,

"This cooler is very good, but it doesn't hold ice as long as they say. I use it on my pontoon and it sits out in the sun for a few hours, then in my garage overnight before I have time to empty it. It'll keep ice for about 2 days that way."

"This holds ice better than anything I've used. I love it. I've not had it keep ice for five days during summer but 3 easily and usually four.
During spring and fall it will stay for five days.

Great cooler.,
March 6, 2008

"We use this cooler all the time. In the boat, at the campground, in the backyard for bbq's, and probably the most difficult use is when were on a car camping trip.
We do a lot of sightseeing, and this cooler, filled with all our food and drinks sits in the back of our SUV in the beating sun while were out hiking or biking, and it never fails to keep stuff cold. I like that it has a nice amount of space inside, it's easy to drain off water and it doesn't "sweat" like thin walled coolers.
There are filling instructions to follow for all of the 5 day coolers so they maintain ice for 5 days, regardless of what manufacturer's it is. But this cooler in the real world of being filled to the brim with more food and drinks than ice, still maintains ice longer than any other cooler I've owned."

"I HAVE USED THIS COOLER FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS NOW. IT WILL KEEP ICE FOR AT LEAST 3 DAYS IN 80 DEGREE WEATHER IF YOU KEEP IT OUT OF THE SUN. COOLER WEATHER AND SHADE WILL KEEP ICE 1 OR 2 DAYS LONGER. I HAVE USED ONLY CUBED ICE. NO PROBLEMS WITH LEAKING AND IT CLEANS UP EASY."

"The cooler holds ice for four or five days in the summer. However, it does not hold water and when the ice melts the area is always wet. This prevents you from keeping the cooler in a handy location."
