"im not much of a catfisher but i do like this pole. i use it for bass and let me tell you it works great. it is heavy enough to catch even the biggest bass. put any crankbait or jerkbait and you'll have yourself a fish. it is smooth enough to mimic the life-like of these baitfish."

"First of all, these reviews are right on. This is a great combo all around. I just wanted to add that the three guides toward the tip GLOW IN THE DARK! I don't know why this isn't in the description. It was a very pleasant surprise. I actually bought glow in the dark paint, to paint my rod tips before, but I had to reapply it often and it didn't work very long. If you fish at night without a lantern (I feel I get more bites w/o a light) , you'll love this feature."

"This is by far my most favorite rod and reel combo's. This is strong and can hold any fish any size, like the 150 pound tuna i cought fishing with 80 pound test on this rod and reel combo. NOTHING IS AS STRONG AS THIS COMBO!!!!!!! BUY IT!!!! NO REGRETS!!!!"

"My uncle bought one of these and caught me some nice size catfish. So my brother, dad, and I bought one each. They are very durable and can be used for a lot of different fishing. Like i used it for fluke, stripers, and even trout. This is a very nice rod and reel combo."

"Bought one of these on a whim about a year ago to go after some of the big cats on the Santee Cooper lakes, and since have bought two more. Very easy to use for the wife (she outfishes me more times than not) but is sturdy enough to handle large fish (landed a 30+ lb blue with no problem)."

"I go out to my buddy's house on Lake Whithurst all the time and go night fishing. He lives on the water with a dock in his back yard. "I bought this rod and reel combo in Orlando, Florida. I have had some big catches with this rod and every time I get a big fish on the end of my line, this rod porves that there is no other rod like it. This rod has more strength than any rod I have ever bought. I would definitely recommend buying this rod if you want a rod that can withstand the fights of big lunker-sized fish. Like they say: "Anything else is just a rod". This rod is GREAT! I wouldn't take any other rod for it."

"Had my eye on this combo for about 2 weeks. Bought it a month ago, used it the first time and caught a 20pd. blue that evening . The action on the rod is second to none with a very sensitive tip and the reel was as smooth as silk with plenty of muscle. Which I would have no problem relying on this rig to easliy crank in a cat twice that size and I fish 15 to 20 days a month."

"I purchased this outfit at the Bass Pro Shop in Myrtle Beach, SC. I used it off a pier fishing for any saltwater fish that basically would bite on cut bait. The action was VERY CLEAN and CRISP. The reel was extremely responsive. Rod action was typical Shakespeare action, very responsive. I was glad I had purchased this combo. I plan on utilizing it for catfishing at home."
