Great red dot,June 10, 2009
By RONEfrom Ohio
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money
"I read all the reviews, some good & some bad. I thought that I would try one on my AR rail anyway. The unit came with an adjustable mount for different slot spacing on the Weaver mount. It fit perfect, was easy to zero & works great. The gun shoots great & is a lot of fun."

Liked the Scope, but had a problem,February 13, 2009
By Grayfrom Northern California
"I was thrilled with the Red Dot Sight / Scope when it arrived, as the quality of finish and overall construction looked very good. I powered it up, and it sighted just fine, so I mounted it to my pistol. During sighting it in, I had to change the evalation and windage a bit, the elevation adjusted perfectly, but the windage adjustment was frozen, I could not turn it in either direction. It is on the way back, and I have requested an exact replacement. Hopefully the new one will be OK."

Preferred over TruGlo,February 6, 2009
By NKram622from Conyers, GA
"I have this red dot scope on my shotgun and I absolutely love it. I sighted it in(as much as one can for a shotgun) on day one and have never needed to adjust it. The big plus to this over the TruGlo is that it is total encased and is not effected nearly as much by the sun. The TruGlo I have found if the sun is at any angle over you and shining on the scope you will either get a bad glare or lose the dot all together. The only thing you need is a spare battery as you will eventually forget to shut it off after shooting that big Tom. There is no need to spend more money for the same value as this one."

hard fit,December 13, 2008
By rog6228
"bought the red dot sight and weaver base for a mossberg 835. The base screws of the sight do not fit into the saddles of the weaver base (the spacing is not long enough) I had to get the multiple reticle red dot sight as bass pro didn't have any of the extension tubes that the instructions recommended. the sight is pretty nice but it would help if they had adapters or bases with enough room to attach. Maybe I can convince my wife to let me buy a new gun that it will fit."

RedHead Ascent Red Dot 42mm,August 20, 2008
By MrWallabiefrom Miami , FL
"Mounted this sight on my Mossberg 500A. Was very easy to zero in, Took the 2 3/4 00Buck shots just fine how ever the minute I put in 3" 00 Buckshot the sight lost its zero. Just to much recoil. Resighted it using the 2 3/4 00 Buck Shot and it held its zero all day, Overall I am very happy with this red dot."

Great utility site,June 6, 2008
By black3fanfrom The Desert, Nevada
"I purchased this site to go on a S&W model22-1A for the wife, well it ended up in my .44 Desert Eagle. I have punched around 100 rds with this site and have yet to have a problem with it. This site performs as well as sites costing 10x more. Buy it with confidence."

Great Red Dot,April 17, 2008
By polarbearfrom North Carolina
"I bought this for my Mossberg 835. It was easy to zero in, it is bright enough for midday and adjusts down to be dim enough for dusk. I have no idea how many shells have been shot with this on, but it has not moved. It is a great bargain and you can expect great quality. The only downside is I would have liked to had a choice in camo."

rugged???,March 6, 2008
By abcdefg
"The first time I shot the Mossberg 535 that this scope was mounted on, the battery cover came off...never to be seen again. (the camo is top notch) The rails had to be "fixed" so the scope would fit. (Thanks Simon) If I had it to buy over again I would NOT!! Maybe when I call, I'll have a better view of this company."

Love this site,February 1, 2008
By spheldfrom Milledgeville,GA
"Great sight, i bought this sight for my Mossburg 835 Turkey gun. i see some of the reviews say it not good in bright light. this is not true i shot Skeet with it in very bright light and it preformed well. i am military (17 years Army Infantry) this sight works exactly like it should.Battarys are very inexpencive for the sight."

Nice addition,January 15, 2008
By buckmannfrom Alabama
"I have a Rugar 10-22 in camo. The camo red dot scope matches the gun perfectly. Scope mounted on the gun with only a flat head screw driver with no problems. With in one clip the gun was hitting right on the money. Well worth the money good buy."

OK for the Price,September 26, 2007
By BassFan
"I purchased this sight for a high power air pistol. The .22 rimfire base must be "Cranked down" to stay where you put it (almost more than the screws will take). Also, the windage adjustment is reverse of what is shown on the adjustment dial (turn it left, and it moves right...). Given these problems, it works very nicley, after you get it sighted in. Not a bad deal for the price."

beats my 4x scope,September 15, 2007
By pabuckbuster
"I shoot a Parker Crossbow. I had a 4x32 scope on it but did not like the clutter of 4 different sight pictures. I switched to a single red dot and on the first day of archery season last year I shot a nice 7 point. @ 8;am I also used a rangefinder and the shot was 23 yards. The dot was very clear and I had the setting on #6 The 4x32 is now on my 06.LOL"

Needs Improvement,February 7, 2007
By Mellowdog
"Two glaring problems: First, the sight's "Integral Weaver style rings" do not fit on the standard Weaver ramp. The pre-cut grooves on the Weaver ramp do not match up with the cross screws for the sight's clamps. I had to "dremel" new grooves in the ramp in order to mount the sight. Second, in bright sunlight, the red dot is difficult to see even at the brightest setting. The wide 42mm lens does provide for quick target acquisition and the sight does seem to hold its zero after many rounds fired. However, I'm probably going to be returning the sight on my next trip to Bass Pro Shops."

red dot sight,December 11, 2006
By graindadfrom medford oregon
"this product was received with rings that would not function due to poor machining. this required procuring rings that would allow installation on the thompson center mounts( purchased at the same time). at the range i bore sited the scope , shot 1 time and the inner lens fell out of place rendering the scope useless . this was on a tc contender in 6.8 remington spc not a heavy recoiling gun however it is a sharp recoil"

Rabbit hunting and scopes,November 29, 2006
By Rabbithunterfrom Southeastern KY
"I purchased this product to use on my 12 gauge shotgun for rabbit hunting. Most people see my setup and think I am crazy. They believe there is no way I can kill rabbits with a scope. To be honest it has raised my accuracy tremendously, nearly double. There is no more just throwing the gun up and pulling the trigger. The field of view, clarity, and the bright red dot makes you shoot a better shot. Of course you still miss but not as often. I was impressed with ability of the scope to withstand the recoil and stay sighted in. A good buy for any small game hunters, even bird hunting. Most of my hunting partners have this product or want this product. It just fits well, easy to use, and saves wasted shots. It does not take long to get use to the scope. All though you do find yourself shooting less, by passing on poor shots, I still bag more rabbits.
Negative: The dot is hard to use on bright days, the battery cap is extremely easy to lose, and the mounts are not cheap either.
Fix this and you can have a 5 star product.
Make sure you keep a spare battery at all times!!!"

"Overall a very good bargain. Only minor issue is sight had to be turned to almost the max. brightness to be seen in daylight. Not the best for bright light conditions even though set on the max. Still a bargain for the price."

Rod dot sights,July 25, 2006
By stubbywalnfrom Jonesboro, AR
"For the price The Red Head red dot sight works well. I like the ability it has to adjust you light level in the sight. Other sights I have used just had one light setting and at almost dark I could not find the animal because the light in the scope was so bright."
