"I bought a pack of three of these broadheads when they first come out, I could not begin to tell you when but it was a few YEARS ago. I hunt every bow season and usually take at least 2 to 3 deer a season. I still hunt with the original three broadheads I purchased and they still fly straight, sharpen easily, (if you follow the instructions), and put the deer on the ground within sight of arrow release point. If this testimonial is not a reason to purchase these broadheads I dont know what is."

"Had a nice spike come by the stand last weekend and at 20 yards....i own the practice broadheads as well and was very confident with my shot. I took a shot at 20 yards perfect lung shot ran about 25 yards and crashed into some pine trees and thats where he stayed. Great broadhead and i don't know why people complain about the sharpness...you could probably shave with it right out of the package and even after your first deer kill."

dull right out of the package,September 27, 2009
By outlawjoeyfrom wi
Advantages: Performs well Disadvantages: Durability, dulls to quick
"these are the only fixed broadheads that fly like a field point from my bow. shot numberous deer, all went less than 50 yards. they do the job! bought 15 of these heads, and they were all not much sharper than a butter knife coming right out of the package. g-5 tech supports is no help. i even have their diamond stone. shoot a deer and you might as well throw that head away. can't get it sharp. time to switch to a different broadhead."

Best Broadhead Ever!,September 20, 2009
By bear13
Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, strong
"Last year I was 14 and it was my first year bow hunting although I had killed a few deer with a rifle. Being a rookie I had a big doe come about 15 yds from me and i judged her at 20 yds. I hit her high and this broadhead hit her right in the spine. After a finishing shot I field dressed her. I was almost positive that the broadhead was bent but it was just as strait as it was when it went in. After some sharpening using the montec sharpening stone it was just as good as new. I love this blade and I plan to use it again this year"

Does The Job Everytime,September 8, 2009
By IRISHPETEfrom INDIANA
Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality
"Being pretty much a traditionalist, I had shot zwickeys for a many a year. I was alway reluctant to try anything else until I saw the G5's and did some research on them. I did switch to them in 2006 and have not looked back since. My old Black Widow recurve and these broadheads have been a deadly combination for me. Being one piece stainless steel, these broadheads are one tough dude. They fly great and resharpen quickly. I wish Montec would start making the 140 grain heads again."

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money, puts deer down!!
"Wow! That's all i can say about these one piece spin tested heads. These things absolutley are AWESOME on deer and they don't even know what hit em. Had a doe at 26 yards and i hit her high and back, (Bad shot i know i know). But the deer ran down a hill and couldnt get up the other side. She piled up and was expired in minutes. Not to mention the nice 8 poiner I put down with the same head. Im sold on these heads. Can't say that i'm not going to change ever tho because before this season I am going to buy the G5 Montec CS which are "25% Sharper." Same broadhead just sharper so I can not wait to put the smack down on some deer this upcoming season. To sum this up AWESOME BROADHEAD and I would recommend it to anybody who is serious about their huntin. Enjoy
Doug"

Overall Satisfied,July 22, 2009
By Highcountry1from Colorado
Advantages: Durability, Performs well
"The broadheads fly with the same windage as the same weight field points, but the point on impact is lower. Like other reviews state, they are not as sharp as other broadheads, but a little work on a stone will fix that. I shot a large bull elk at 30 yards with the broadhead, the flight was perfect, it cut massive amounts of bone without damaging the broadhead, and the point stuck in the hide on the opposite side. However, very little blood and luckily he went down within 70 yards. Overall satisfied, but go with the 125 to help with pass through on elk not the 100."

Accurate Broadhead,March 26, 2009
By latt44from PA
"Pros- This Broadhead is very accurate. I've shot out to forty yards with excellent accuracy. Practice heads shoot exactly like hunting tips. They are also very durable, as I've shot two broadheads repeatedly into my BLOCK target without putting a mark on the broadhead.
Cons- The broadhead does make a slight wistling sound and is not sharp out of the box. I bought 3 packages and all three packages were dull.
Overall this broadhead will do the job without issue."

Unmistakable blood trail,February 18, 2009
By hunter4life09from New York, New York
"I shot a doe this year with the g5 montecs and the broadhead blasted through the doe like it was nothing. it blew out the front shoulder and while taking out both lungs and part of the heart. The blood trial was like none i have ever seen. It was no lie 2 foot wide and dragged on for 20 yard were i found her. I strongly recommend this broad head."

Fly True,February 12, 2009
By NORTEXHUNTERfrom Denton, Tx
"I am trying out different broadheads so I bought these in 85gr. I tried them at 20 yrds with great results (I shoot 2" blazer veins at about 275 fps). They stabilized immediately and impacted just about where my field points shot. I tried again at 30 yrds and was pleased that they went where they were pointed. If I have any problem with them it is that they make a little noise while in flight, but no more then some others I have shot and perhaps a little less. They were not as sharp out of the pack as I would normally have liked but I am not above sharpening my broadheads. I like the fact that I can practice in the off season, resharpen them, and hunt with them in season and know how they will perform. This is an important perk for me. Some replacable style heads that are much sharper out of the pack, have to have bleeder blades and/or main blades replaced before hunting season. To me, this seems a lot like taking an unproven rifle into the field. Chances are that those replacable style heads will hold the same zero. But for me I like KNOWING that my broadheads are going to go where I send them."

Solid Broadhead,January 25, 2009
By bowtechredneckfrom Stokesdale, NC

"The Montec broadhead is a really solid broadhead that is very tough and sharp right out of the box. The fact of the matter is they are too sharp. I have read complaints that they do not leave a good blood trail and I have experienced this myself. They slip through the chest cavity so fast that unless you bust a rib or some other bone, the hole seems to seal right back up. I have shot whitetail with these and have always had complete pass thru's. I shot a Russian boar with the Montec and was able to penetrate the shield over the rib cage [nearly 2" thick] and lodge the arrow in the opposite shoulder. The heads did not show any damage and were able to be used again. The only damage I have experienced with this broadhead was when it struck a rock in the ground when it passed through a deer.
One trick that I have learned and I have heard other hunter’s state the same is to shoot a foam target several times with this broadhead before hunting with them. They are plenty sharp to provide a quick, clean ethical kill, but the duller head seems to help open the wound hole for better blood trailing. They still blow through the chest cavity like butter!"

darn good but not the best,January 21, 2009
By bigdog77from Waco, TX
"the factory sharpness of this broadhead is quite poor and after resharpening them they lose a good deal of accuracy and consistancy. However they will hold a good edge after sharpend properly. The last four deer I have harvested with these heads ran less than 30 yards after all being shot perfectly behing the shoulder however the first deer I shot them at was hit quartering away and did not make it through the offside shoulder and the deer ran 150 yards. With a fine tuned bow they fly verry true however if the bow is even slightly out of tune they do not shoot anywhere close to field tip accuracy. Not the best broadhead for begining archers. but still a top of the line product."

Awesome broadhead,October 29, 2008
By bear101from Timmins,Ontario, Canada
"Hi. I'am new at archery and this is my first year hunting with a bow. I harvested my first black bear(300 lbs) using the 125gr. broadheads at 15 yards. The arrow went right threw one lung, severing the main artery to the heart, shattering two ribs and exiting the other side. He only went 30 yards. The blood trail that the exit wound gave out was amazing. The broadhead did not even have a scratch and was still perfectly sharp. I would recommend this broadhead to anyone. I will be hunting with these broadheads again next year you can assure. Thanks for a great product."
