Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money, Quality, the best hooks on the market
"Gamakatsu makes the best hooks out there and I recently have fell back in love with live bait. I used to use just worms for sunnies when I begun my fisherman adventures, but my friend brought me into the world of artificials. They are quite amazing and pull in many bass and have caught me hundreds alone this summer, yet a few days ago at a pond nothing would think of going for artificials. We were going to go when we saw this big plump grasshopper on the ground. My friend motioned to me top grab it and I did just that. We rigged him through the back on a Gamakatsu hook and casted him out there weightless just a few feet. I let him sit for about 20 seconds and picked up my rod and about the third time I picked him up and moved him closer or jigged him I got the strike. I quickly set the hook and though I had my first catfish maybe around 10lbs, but no, a largemouth and when he broke surface my friend and I were amazed. I grabbed him when I got him in and with two hands ran through the brush and weeds to the concrete walkway around the pond and set him down gently after snapping a few photos....after measuring him 22 inches and estimating him to be 7 lbs. My new biggest conquering my previous 4 1/2 lb. bass on the daiwa dr. minnow which bass pro recently stopped carrying. We released the fish and he swam off fine with a easy and safe hook removal even though I could have got a citation for his amazing size and stature. Yet it changed that trip we stayed and fished all the live bait we could grab crickets and all bugs reminding me of old times. I even caught another bass on a real live monarch butterfly and this one was about 1/2lbs Still a day I wont forget and I just ordereed about another $25+ worth of Gamakatsu hooks. Readying myself for the next trip to the ponds in Columbia, MD to hopefully catch somemore.
