Great all around reel, but I really love the rod,September 6, 2006
By fishnupserfrom Va. Beach Va.
"I am the proud owner of three ocean master 4000 reels and three inshore extreme rods of various lengths and tapers. The reel is solid yet light. It is very smooth and casts like a dream. I would however prefer a sturdier reel seat versus the rivet attatched one it currently sports.I have visions of fighting a 50 pound rockfish and having the reel come off the seat . The rods are awesome. No complaints. They are light and very good ergonomically. Nicely balanced so there is little fatigue even after casting plugs for Spanish all day. The heavy action 15 - 25, 7' rod is my favorite . I can cast buck tails to brutes like Cobia or toss a live bate to a smoker King Mackeral and feel confident I can land it even on a pier. The lighter longer rods are just as tough when applied to the right fish. They are "extreme" ly sensative and hold their own in battle. I would reccomend these rods to my best friend. ( As a matter of fact I just bought him one.)"
