"I like these for river smallmouth, but I also have them along for lake fishing too.
One day I wasn't doing too well in my favorite lake and I tied one of these on before calling it quits for the day.
Beleive it or not, within forty five minutes I had the biggest stringer of bass in my life. An 8lber, 7.5, 6.2, 5.5, and 4.9. I would have been smokin' at the classic.
Moral of story, Don't underestimate the power of small lures."

"So many of you scoff when those of who use the rooster tail tie one on our line and cast it out into the water, but let me set the record straight on this, this little devil catches everything in the lake. I have personally caught, Large and Small mouth Bass, Crappie, Bluegills, Trout, Northern Pike, Bullheads, Perch, and my buddy Bill even caught a 15 pound Muskie on one. If you are looking to add a new weapon in your arsenal, buy some of these babies. My favorite is yellow, but I also favor black and even pink. Trust me, you can't go wrong on this one."

"I bought some roooster tails hoping they would catch somthing and i was right. On the third cast i caught a nice sized largemouth.Then two casts later i caught a two pound largemouth.On the other side of the pond i caught a white crappie about 10 inches long and then another largemouth that i thought would drag me of the dock. in other words this is an awsome lure."

"I use the green with black blade and the purple with silver blade early in the year when the ice has just let out and can almost always pull out a bass or pickrel of good size. Also used them to catch some nice bass on a midsummers day. They just come to it like it was a magnet! Love this lure! Only draw back i had was with the amout of fish i was catching the lures bodies had paint flaking off from all the teeth."

"Time and time again this has been one of the most dependle lures at catching fish. Since I was a kid Rooster Tails have always been at my side. I have tried these in a variety of colors having the most success with salmon, rainbow, ylw./coach dog & f/tiger. "We use 1/8th oz. in Trout streams in GA. Yellow,rainbow,light brown, best colors. light line 4lbs. (green) ulta light spinner. and you got the rig that will out catch the guys with the $500 fly rod set up every time. My wife caught her first trout this summer with the yellow color on her first cast in the Taccoa river in North GA. She never has fished before. that sould show how easy it's to fish with."

"i love these lures because i catch bluegill, sunfish, bass. and also for example i just went to a trout park and caught a limit of trout. i will only use the smaller sized rooster tails because the larger ones' blades simply just dont spin. if you want to go any larger than this 1/8 size, buy a mepps, but for a small spinner these are the best. My favorite colors are rainbow trout, bleeding colors, tequila sunrise, white, and clown ,all with a silverblade. and there cheap. other spinners can be expensive"

"The Original Rooster Tail has probably caught more fish than almost any other lure. They are extremely versatile and easy to use. The only trick to using it is to give the lure a quick snap of the rod tip before beginning the retrieve. This starts the blade spinning. I have caught several different species of fish with the 1/8 oz. size. One of my must have lures."

"I tried one of these on my favorite lakes and beleive it or not I caught 10 largemouth that were between 6 and 12 pounds in less than an hour. I had to be real careful with the small size #8 hook and light line but skill landed them all for me. You have to try this small lure for gigantic largemouth."

"Great multi species bait. I've caught trout, panfish, smallmouth, and even carp on this bait. Great in creeks and rivers, white being the most effective color for bass and trout. The only problem is that the wire is bent after five or six good fish. Catch 5 wild trout and you'll find yourself unbending the wire so it tracks straight. If you don't the hook tangles in the line and the blade won't spin. Overall great lure just has durability problems. Definitely never go fishing without 3 or 4 of these in your box."
