Pretty good!, May 25, 2009
By Findmeoutside

Advantages: Ease of use, Long lasting, Quality, Value for money, Well made/Durable
Disadvantages: only one type of fuel, somewhat unstable

"I have owned my Pocket rocket for about 4 years now and it has gone everywhere with me. From the barrier islands of Georgia to the mountains of New Mexico.

Its easy to light, fast to bowl, high quality, and is extremely light!

I can only find two faults with the PR. First is stability. If you plan on using it with large pot, try another stove. The second is that it can only burn the isobutane that MSR sells, and if you out in the backcountry their isnt exactly a trading post around very corner.

If you plan use the PR in well populated areas, solo or double hiking, or plan on stocking up on fuel, it perfect for you!

Good but wind sensitive., April 25, 2009
By bigrock from Calgary, Canada

Advantages: Ease of use, Long lasting, Quality, Value for money, Well made/Durable

"I have this and I have also had a similar unit made by Bruntun. This units work great, are tiny, fuel efficient but have similar issue. When there is a lot of wind the heat output drops rapidly. You really need to use a wind screen when there is high wind or it might not cook much. When wind is reasonable it is quite quick. This seems to be a common problem with all these microstoves that is only addressed by products like the JetBoil"

Best Stove Out There, March 1, 2009
By Bassmacker from Texas

"The Pocket Rocket is an awesome stove. I have used it on all my backpacking camping trips, and it works great. It burns very hot for such a small stove, and can cook and boil things quickly. It is easy to start, and I am glad that it has a built in sparker, so I don't have to use matches or a lighter to start it. I have never had any problems starting it, and its extremely light, I can't even feel it in my pack."

space saver, February 18, 2009
By ndbuchko from FT POLK, LA

"This little stove works great. It packs nicely in the protective case it comms with. The fuel tanks last a good while.

The only complaint I have is the arms tend to bend sometimes. All I do is bend them back, no breaks yet.

I have had my stove for about 7 years. Still works nicely.

great backpakcing stove, January 21, 2009
By thedwellerofthewoods from Central Florida

"I often go backpacking and having a light weight stove is a must. this stove is light and still efficient and getting heat to the pot. Painting the bottom of your pots and pan black help you cook faster with less fuel."

super efficient and lightweight, March 7, 2008
By evitso from Houghton, Mi

"I do a lot of backpacking on extended trips, like Isle Royale and the John Muir Trail, and this stove has never let me down. It's super efficient and lightweight and packs nicely inside my cookware, which saves on space. I also recommend buying the MSR Repair Kit (includes gaskets, lube, etc.). If you keep the gaskets lubed, you will extend the life of your stove. I've had this for almost a year now and haven't replaced any parts on it yet. If your looking to save on space, weight and gas, I would recommend this product to anyone."

Lightweight and Outstanding, February 4, 2008
By DenverScouter from Denver, CO

"This was our only stove for a crew of 7 on a 11 day trip to New Mexico. Using the single use canisters makes for quick start and cooking. We used a wind guard and boiled water in minutes.
Great product.

Great for backpacking, November 27, 2007
By MrJack

"When I backpack, I like to travel light. This stove is great for 1 person. I can have boiling water in under 2 minutes. A fuel canister will last me for about a week cooking all my meals."
