"When I bought a Cabo to pair with a 7 ft St Croix I got some of this stuff as well, and after i did I watched a video from Quantum that says this stuff always forms a molecular bond, meaning once its on it will never come off, which is true. Now think about this; if it never comes off, what happens if you get dirt or salt in it, and it bonds with the grease? It means your gears are gonna chip and never be the same, and your gonna have to order new ones to get the reel performing okay at best. Also, I liked how the manual recommends greasing this ceramic drag; have you ever heard of greasing the part of a reel that is meant to hold you and the fish? It's like putting vaseline on you brake pads, just doesnt make sense."

"I have use this to restore performance and smoothness on all my older baitcasters. Works good on new reels too, but Id recommend degreasing first because the hot sauce doesnt seem to mix well with some others."

"Quantum has done it again. This stuff is absolutely great. it gives reels a silky smooth performance and better yet it last a long time. "I bought this stuff when i bought my Quantum Energy. Shortly after the first time using my reel I decided to use it on all of my reels. And it worked. It instantly made every retrieve smoother, and quieter. I have to say that it is pricey but it not only does the job but it stays where it should longer. And it doesn't break down as fast. also its bright red so you can tell where it is and where it isnt."

"THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST GREASE I HAVE EVER USED ON A REEL. IT OUT PREFORMS ANY HAVE HAVE USED. I FIRST USED IT ON MY WIFE'S REEL A QUANTUM CABO 40 SPINNING REEL ALONG WITH THE OIL. "Like the accompanying oil I have used this product for 3 years now. My reels operate very smoothly with no noise at all. I clean my reels annually and unlike other greases you can still see the grease on the gears which means that your gears are constantly lubricated and the greas is not flying off the parts that have been greased. Only a small amount is needed to properly lubricate your gears. Couple this with the accomanying reel oil and you have a regimen that should make your reels last a very long time if used on a regular basis. This product is highly recommended."

"This is by far the best lube I have used on my reels, but it is quite costly. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone with a cheap, or lower quality reel. It is expensive, and it comes in small quantities. I feel that reels that are lacking high end quality may not get enough of a benefit out of this product to justify the cost. There are plenty of other greases and oils out there that would work adequately for your purpose. Other than that, this is a fantastic lubricant. Like the others have already said, it stays where you put it, and lasts all season if you don't work your reels too hard. Good luck, and best fishes!"

"One thing that I noticed when I took my Quantum reels apart for their annual maintenance was that this grease was still on all the gears and mainshaft and still had it's red color. Most of my other brand reels were almost void of any signs of lubricant when taken apart for their annual maintenance. I have used it on all my reels for the past year and it is the best lubricant I have used to date. It lubricates well, quiets noise on some of my older reels and stays where you put it and some of my older reels are now working smoother and quieter than when they were new."
