How it works, June 26, 2009
By nhirsch from Florida

Advantages: Performs well, light and sound

"Product works well after understanding that when the flat metal wire makes contact against the case, the light and sound both alarm you of the "strike". No need to remove the batteries to turn it off, just slide a thin piece of paper or a piece of fishing line between the flat metal wire and the case to break the contact.
If the metal wire gets bent back (maybe you inserted somthing too thick between) then just push the wire against the case sliding it to one side and then to the other side to re-bend it so it's got some pressure against the aluminum case and still remains in the center when resting.

Use in salt water may require you to occasionally clean contacts between the wire and case. Simply slide thin fine sandpaper between contacts (both sides) and that should do it."

"What was I thinking???? waste of time. Works OK. Do yourself a favor and just get the copper bells. NOT THE JINGLE BELLS, those are also a hassle to put on and take off. More of a hassle, batteries an what not. Brass Bells thatts the ticket"

Okay for the money, September 5, 2008

"The first time out the indicator worked flawlessly. After the contacts loosened up a bit it is a little less reliable. As long as I mess around with it a bit it works MOST of the time.

I'd pay a little more for one that had a better contact and an on/off switch."

ok product, April 18, 2008
By DECKKER from Michigan

"There were many things I thought were bad with this product when I had purchased it. I bought this on the internet where it sounds good in the description but I don't think is. There are many small confusing parts that you have to hold on to with the indicator. I also think it is a very hard product to get in the right situation so when a fish does bit the indicator goes off. There is no off switch so if you want to take the product off the light a siren go off so you have to take out the battery. The only reason why i gave this a 2 star is because when the siren goes off it is very loud and you can probably hear it across the lake you are fishing on."
