"never thought it was worth the cost until i bought one myself. THE BEST, PERIOD. I now only buy st croix surf rods. unbelievable action and sensitivity. my 8.5' works great with my penn slammer 560 reel. next one i buy will be the 10'."

"I bought the 10 ft. rod last year and i've used it at least 3 or 4 times a month...It's the best surf rod I've ever owned or used...it's lightweight but yet strong enough to pull in big gamefish..i've caught fish in the 20 - 30 lb range with this rod and no problem..it's quality is amazing, i sometimes forget to rinse it with freshwater after using it and still no sign of rust on the guides...I strongly recommend this rod for the fisherman that doesnt mind paying a little extra for high quality equipment that's going to last. My next purchase will be the 8 ft rod . Good luck!!"

"I have tried them all. Not only is St. Croix the best. They standbehind their product. I have three, two 10ft and one eight. Outstanding performance and quality. I have an older ten foot Ben Durr I have abused it on the beach and jetty's for many years i neede to replace the guides beacuase I cracked them on the rocks. St. Croix completely replaced them and reconditioned the rod and I had it back in les than a week for a minimal charge and postage. My two premiers are outstanding."
